The exercise, Swiss or stability ball is an extremely useful piece of workout equipment that can be used at your gym or in the comfort and privacy of your home. Essential, the exercise ball is an elastic round ball filled with air that usually ranges from 35 to 85cm in diameter. Besides the use in exercise, it is also extremely helpful for physiotherapy and other forms of training. The main benefit of exercising with the exercise ball is that more muscles are engaged in comparison to sitting on a flat sturdy surface - more specifically your core muscles. Due to the fact that you are constantly using these muscles for balance, over time they strengthen and become more effective.
