I have been on Ron (BB1Fit) for awhile now. I think he should write a book about his experiences in training to be a bodybuilder, I tell him and I tell him, he is so smart and he loves to write and help everyone. This could be a book, so help me to rally him on. He has kept a daily journey from the day he started this thing two years ago. He keeps everything in it. So can I count on you guys?

Diet, supplements, exercise, health, competition, the list goes on and on and on. Ron has an amazing knowledge of the sport, and he should share it. Target it towards middle aged men and women and it would be a best seller!!! He is proof positive right?-------------- Message deleted by moderator due to unsuitable content for this board. |

ditto all the previous posts. The same style of writing that he is known for here will surely help get it moving. Ron's been giving it away on here for quite a while and I for one, would definitely be a buyer. WRITE THE BOOK RON.

What would you choose for a first FAQ Charlie? Or anyone else? What questions do you or any of you see the most of that you would like to see under this heading?
On another note, I thank Sandy, but she knows that time is a bit scarce right now. That is why I haven't been puttting my two cents in as much here lately on FT, with the overtime hours, driving farther to the new gym, etc., going right to work from there, it has really cut into time. I would love to write, I have dreamt of it for years, but between little time and getting started, and it is a daunting task to undertake. Thank you all:big_smile::big_smile: ============ Quoting from charlie826: Ron could also do a little honing on his writing skills in that sparkly new FAQ these wonderful owners have installed. ============= -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

This is a really heavy question but these are the areas I have fitbuddy searched every line you ever wrote. You don't necessarily have to follow my outline... but I'll never post again if you don't.
:big_smile::big_smile::big_smile::big_smile: Outline An overview of bodybuilding based on your philosiphy. Thorough discussion of the importance of proper nutrition . Eating to gain muscle Eating to lose fat Eating to deal with illness ie. diabetes, high blood pressure etc Supplements I took somthing you wrote to heart early on. Supplements make approximately a 5% difference. Get your exercise, rest, diet in order and then worry about supplements. Compare and contrast supplements by way of protein uses, time of usage, types of protein. Same thing for any legitimate supplements ie. cla, ephedra, creatine, Explain how to buy protein. What is crap? What is legit. Use of supplements for different ages. A thorough discussion of vitamins...who what how when Exercise Who what when where how of strength training. Same for cardio. Specilized techniques like insulin spiling, and others I haven't learned about. I really have paid attention. If its in the FAQ you will have more time to write the book. You probably have an idea how many people you have helped but I bet your estimate is low. I hope you write the book for yourself but selfishly I hope you write it for us. For me though, please keep it simple and use smaller words so I can follow it. -------------- Foolish consistancies are the hobgoblins of small minds. Charlie | |

FAQ? One I see alot, and a lot of confusion on is CARDIO. When is the best time, and just how much do you need to do? I continually see people at the gym wearing themselves out on the treadmill or bike for 30-60 minutes BEFORE they start their workout. And sometimes this is before they do a leg workout. I just want to say imagine how much heavier you would be lifting if you did this first?-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

Hey, Sandy, not only should Ron write a book, you should co-author it too. You should include chapters on women because most books lack them. Another suggestion is to write about what you guys did in your initial days of working out. What I have observed, in other people and in myself, is that the hardest part in any training is the initial days. Once a person has started off properly, and manages to stay on for a few more days, then he/she is hooked. But the key is those early few days. What makes some people to stick on and the others to quit? How to overcome the excuses (and boy, there are many!) in that initial period? If these problems are addressed, then it would greatly benefit an unbelievable number of people.

Healthy snacks, pre/post workout snacks. Ideas/variations on meal plans. You could even split certain sections ie nutrition, supplements, exercise into beginner, intermediate and experienced - so that there's something for everyone. Hints on motivation - I think the better question would be what not to put in.

Well if you dont have the time for it then thats tough..you could however try make time? :)
I say write it..and Im not just sayin it because Im in a thread thats asking me to say it either, hehe. You said so yourself you would love to do it and have dreamt of it, combine that with your knowledge of BB and I see a great book coming. I dont have many books, just few really special ones but this one will join the pack for sure. FT could probably help with advertising/funding it too. As for the questions to put on it...Im not sure. Ive actually never read a BB book b4, however with all the people who would be willing to help you on this site..I doubt that will be too much of a problem. |

BB1Fit certainly knows his stuff. No matter how many books are out there, people will always be looking for something they can use to help understand the process of fitness. If you do decide to write/publish a book just make it simple. People dont want a degree in fitness only ways to get there. I'll buy your book. Write it!
