Getting over another bug.. hoping to get back in to the gym today!

I tortured the everliving crap out of my legs today. The single leg squats on an exercise ball with weight are killer. The single leg calf raises are tough too but my butt's on fire from the single leg squats. Also walked 650 calories off on a 15 degree incline treadmill.

Chest back abs walk. I got my new 60 lb dumbbells today. My wife got me some wrist straps. I love them. I had no idea how hard this was on my hands. Great workout.

Working it hard at the gym, 4 pounds lost so far this week. Completed 45 minutes on the treadmill doing it's fat burner program, the machine inclines on its own. But the weather is slowing me down a little, my knee is begging for me to stop for a minute. Guess it is a good time to work on some homework while the ibuprofen kicks in and then get back to moving the body. I am loving the way my body is feeling and how clear my mind seems to be.
I might actually get to and break the number that I never seem to be able to get past on the scale, 197. Here I come my nemisis, you ready, I am. :) |

Well all right! Big print. I can finally read what I type. Now how do I make everybody else's print bigger? I'm a digital dumbass. Thanks Crushedgoddess. Glad to hear you are feeling good. That really is the goal.

*boinnnnggg* Heading over the gym after work. I work at a hospital, so the staff gym is a real bonus here. Usually have it allll to myself by the time I get off work, so I crank the music and bop around with the weights.
The janitor comes wandering in usually halfway through my workout and his hips sway to the music as he does his mopping thannngg. Cute to see. *grin* Lambie |

I am anxiously awaiting my 6 week follow up so my doctor can give me the GREEN LIGHT! Keep your fingers crossed, because I have already made goals that I want to achieve once I get going. It'sbeen stiry crazy here only being able to walk through my house and a few blocks a day.
My first goal I have set is The Devil Run (5k obstacle race) and a Hiking event in May. But I would really like to get started on my training for cycling again to see if I can do the STP (Seattle To Portland) Bicycle Classic again. |

Doing core and legs tonight with a side dish of a little bit of cardio. Still having problems finding pre workout nutrition that will give me the needed energy but that won't upset my tummy. Any ideas would be great!

Yesterday power of tens arms along with weihghted abs, back shoulders...
Today Legs, light abs and back. I have new 70 lb dumbbells. Leg and chest days get more interesting. Dumbbells are a challenge on a bench. There is a great deal of effort getting dumbbells into bench press position that doesn't exist with a barbell. Additionally the extra stress that dumbbells place on accessory muscles is greatly beneficial.

Today I started out with 20 minutes of core exercising. Going for cycling/jogging this evening for about 45 minutes. My biggest challenge today is:
Buying my new bicycle. And I just confirmed my attendance for the Devil Dash 5k Obstacle Run on May 12th! EEKS! It's been a while since I raced. I am not racing for time though on this one, I am competing to finish it. It's my first obstacle race and any advice on training, strengthening would be much appreciated. :-) |

Today was chest back and abs. New 70 lb dumbbells enabled me to work to failure which I rarely do deliberately. Felt good after it didn't. I will pay in a day or so but kayak awaits and it's always good for soreness.
Supper was completely home grown. We had okra, corn, pink eye purple hull peas and a lentil stew. It was all veggie and had about 38 grams of protein and it was goooood.

Full body today. We inflate the kayak this weekend. The canoe is stored for the summer. I like kayaking better than canoeing. We use kayak paddles and in an actual kayak the angle is easier and we can just fly.

2 mile walk/run...getting ready for my 5K Devil Dash in May. 1 1/2 months after my surgery and I thought I wasn't going to even last 20 minutes...I surprised myself. I do my first paced mile and half tomorrow. Hope that's good.

I am skipping my lifting for the day. I did 6 hours on a shovel. Since I'm old, it took me 8 hours to get in six but I did it.
I like to do my workout to music. I have to lift in our den where the TV is. It's embarrassing for me and distracting for my wife because I pant and grunt a lot. To mask the noise I usually put one of the music shows like Glee, Sing Off, The Voice, Idol or a PBS deal on the tube. So here is the deal.. There is a character on Glee named Emma Pilsberry. On my Facebook account I get Glee feeds. I got a ten question test on Miss Emma. I got all ten questions right.. Seems I'm a fan.... Okay, hit me with your best shot.

Legs on Monday. Pushing my Wed workout to Thurs.
|
2012/04/05, 06:29 PM
There has to be a productive reason behind all these workouts. Today I shoveled 2 pick up loads of cypress mulch. The bed was heaped to the height of the cab. It had to be shoveled into a wheel barrow and dumped in the areas I'm changing from grass to natural. It's eco friendly...less watering. After dumping it needs to be raked out. I reduced about half the amount of grass in my front yard. I sold the riding mower. I'll walk a push mower. I am very tired. Best guess on weight is about 5000 lbs.
And tonight.... we put Burlesque on the big TV, cranked the volume up til our ears bled and danced our asses off. Hot women, great music, danced every song. Who knows where this will lead....

I battled Canadian geese.
Today we got to the boat and the dock was covered in goose shit. I'd like to thank and strangle my Canadian buddies for inventing those flying crap machines. They crap the size of an 80 pound dog only there are thousands of them. I hosed off the dock and got a bag of pretzels and started tossing them in the water. Sure enough a gaggle of geese showed up for the free meal. Oddly enough , these large mean crapping waterfoul don't like to be sprayed with a hose. I lured them really close and then turned the garden hose on them. They were all elbows and assholes climbing over each other to get airborne. I'm completely happy. Very satisfying. Tonight after dark, I will go out and pee on every inch of dock that we don't have to touch. Human pee scares the crap out of geese but at least they wont leave it on my dock. We need stronger immigration control with Canada as pertains to geese...GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Edit: Oddly enough, the wood ducks flock to the hose. They dance under the stream and flap their little wings. What's wrong with the Canadian geese? Can't you Canadians leash them up or something? Edit again. If I could have caught one, He would have been added protein in our organig vegetable soup.
