Charlie, if that's the case, I have to wheel a XXL one of those bad boys around just about everyday with some of the BS that I have to deal with here!

RB, a push day focuses on the compound pushing movements, i.e., bench press, military press, etc.

maiyadp, I know how you feel. Don't get discouraged; try hitting the gym after you leave work and before you go home. Trust me, I know how I feel once I get home from work - I do NOT want to leave again!

2 1/2 mile swim

Edit: I just read that the lake temps rose from 81 to 85 degrees today. During our swim I kept telling my wife the water was salty. It was SWEAT! Dayum, this is awful. I liked it better when it was 70 degrees 3 weeks ago...

Arms, Shoulders Abs

I started another super rest pause session. If you aren't familiar , and you're crazy, read my flog to see how it works. I put a link to the source. I do modify the lifts to fit my equipment. My arms and shoulders are jello.

I allegedly did chest and upper back but it wasn't a workout. I should be arrested for self abuse. I'm old and I hurt.

35 minutes on the eliptical.

Thanks CharlieMV, it takes a lot of work to keep the "stache" just right.

3 mile swim, very warm and calm water. I am tied to a kayak. When my wife can't keep up, she holds onto the stern of the kayak and I drag her. It adds to the workout.

jmarie, could you do a pictire with you and your other half showing some bicep? Guns and staches on women are hot .I like the little twist you're giving it. Keep going. It's nice to see others participating

4 mile walk then an hour Krav Maga class.

CharlieMV, I need to get the biceps back in shape first then I will post a pic.   I will probably go solo, my husband is pretty much a cardio guy and I don't think I could get him to agree to the pic.  There is something to be said about muscles and staches on women.  I'm glad I happened across this website,  it's making me more motivted and accountable.  I like mixing it up keeps boredom away.

Swam about a mile and 3/4 and got overheated so I limped on back to the boat. I am just a wimp. I can't deal with the heat.

jmarie, there is something to be said for a good sense of humor too. Keep trucking my dear. I agree on the accountability aspect of this place.

3 sets of 8 assisted pull ups.

i drove all day and now I'm laying on my ass. tomorrow we harvest okra, greenbeans and start the dreaded pick/shuck/skin  corn ordeal. I am not looking forward to it. Temps in the hundreds. We will endure as much as we can and then I'll do arms. This is a really bad time of the year.

Over the next 2 weeks we'll finish the corn harvest and the pink eye purple hull pea harvest. Then we yank the plants and replant the voids with more pink eye purple hull peas. The peas are labor intensive and result in small yields. Our goal with each crop is to freeze enough to eat 3 to 4 times per week until next years harvest. That means we plant peas early and late.

We'll put up 4 meals a week worth of corn over the next 3 days. We're half way there with snap beans and tomatoes. Our cabbage produces 9 months a year so we can kind of coast on that. Okra has started producing and we'll have a years worth in about 4 more weeks.

The terrible part about mid July is that you harvest and pull a large number of plants ant turn around and replant immediately. The heat is just murderous. I have a hard time breathing when the temps pass 95 degrees. I pretty much hate everybody and everything during July.

I swam in 88 degree water Saturday and was sweating while I swam. That sucks.

Was supposed to hit legs today, but I am beat to hell after UFC 148 this past weekend, plus lots of work to get caught up on. Gotta catch up on my food, too.
Tomorrow, here I come.....
2012/07/10, 03:38 PM
I am taking a few workout days off. We picked okra and peas today. Tomorrow  we will pick shuck and skin corn. The next few days we'll be yanking corn and peas that have played out. We'll level and replant peas. I'm guessing we'll be finished by Saturday or Sunday so I'll either be swimming or lifting Monday.  I just can't seem to motivate myself to lift after 6 hours in the heat and the god damned giant ants.

Near 120 degrees yesterday and today. Even on the way to my office this morning, it was 96 at 6am. Welcome to July in the desert.....

Did a push day yesterday, and threw in a few sets of squats for good measure - hey, why not?
