Some people have asked if there will be a new challenge starting up soon.

I will run one if there are enough people interested.

It would involve following a specific diet, a specific routine and sending in specific stats every 2 weeks.

The challenge will be to lose bodyfat - inches and pounds, but the pounds lost will be compared on a percentage basis, not pound for pound, so it is fair.

If run , the challenge will be 3 months long and have you looking better come swimsuit time!

I will ask George and Adrian about possible prizes.

So - Think long and hard - do you have what it takes to stay with something for three solid months? If so - post your name here!

I'll be posting in my log later....BUT...I just started BACK into the original challenge routine today...the new rules routine is fun...but I cant seem to keep my diet in check...so I figured the old comfortable routine would kick it back into gear...

So I am up for it...

I dont need to compete for prizes...but logging and getting and giving motivation is helpful...

This would put me bikini ready for my 35th bitrthday...NICE:)

Tim and RB -
Dietwise I think we did well with the 50?20?30 P/C/F, which sounds like low carb and highg fat, but you don't count fibrous vegeatbels when you count the carbs, you only count the starchy carbs, so at a meal where you could have 30g cho, you could have a baked potato, and as much salad or green beans or broccoli (whatever floats your boat). The fat Is good fat - supplemented with flax or fish oil, or my favorite - Udo's 3-6-9...

So - you get more carbs than you think - oatmeal with breakfast, poatao or sweet potatao or rice with lunch and dinner..you won't feel deprived if you are doing it right, and the good fats will help bring down any inflammation in your system that might be contributing to holding exces weight (just one benefit of many).

The workout routine - I thought , since we have people who are all at different fitness levels, we could do a split routine - maybe an upper?lower where you train upper monday, lower tuesday, rest/cardio Wednesday, upper thursday, lower friday, adding in cardio on some of those days, sticking to compound moves and making it intense without overtraining. Cardio on Upper body days and rest days, Sundays completely off. I will do a simialr cardio switch up like the previous challenge, so you are doing something different each session.

What do you think?

I'm in. Though not sure how well i would be with the diet. It would definetely be helpful as far as having set guidelines.

You will be fine with the diet - it is actually very simple, once you do some basic calculations, I will help you the whole way, too.

I'm definitely in! I was too late for the last challenge, so I'm really happy you're doing another one. Amy - you're amazing! Thank you!

I'll have to watch the diet part though, as at 5'5" and 110 lbs. I don't really want to lose any more weight......lol

Thanks again Amy. I'm really looking forward to this!

Deni - You will probably see an increase in muscle and definition, more than weight loss, so you might actually gain a little weight, but it will be good weight. When you get to a certain leanness, as ms mogreen saw in the pro challenge, your weight might not change much, but you see more abdominal defifnition and more muscle.

hey asimmer, This sounds great. I am currently doing the diet that bb1 created in his "dieting made simple" post. I am having good results with that. I am also currently doing the ft weightloss/toning workout. to be in this challenge would I have to change this or can I keep my current routine and diet??

Hey, as always, I'm in. I'll probably follow my own diet and exercise routine but I up for the challenge and I always find these things motivating. I'm sure I'll gather more useful info about diet and exercise from it as well....Hmmm...I started my own "challenge" a week ago and my wt is already down a bit...can I use my original starting wt:big_smile::big_smile: J/K

Ag and fly - I think it is more inetersting if everyone does the same routine/deit plan, but if you want to use ones you are already on, go ahead.

IAUMP - Haven't come up with a start date yet - just trying to see if there is enough interest, which, apparently, there is.

Do you all want to start on the 25th of February, or one week later, March 4th?

Well, I'm already off and running with my own challenge, so the sooner you start this one the better. I'll see what you have in store for the diet, and decide from there. So far I seem to be doing pretty well with the plan I'm on.

OKay - I like the 1st Annual Winter to Spring Shedding Challenge (WSSC) so look for my posts to have WSSC Challenge in the title. I am working out the routine and will start a thread for the lifting part, a thread for the cardio part and a thread for the food part so we can have specific threads for each questions on each subject.

Here is who I have in - Freedomfound

To be officially in the challenge I need to receive the following from you
(your stats will be only seen by me, when I publish results it will just list pounds lost and percentage of weight, and inches lost. Only inches from this set of measurements will be counted, measure other bodyparts if you want, but the sites I list will be the ones we go by):

Weight (weigh yourself first thing in the morning if possible)

Chest - Oer (for women, around bust, largest area, for men at nipple height)

Chest - Under (for women where bra would go around and men - around under pecs)

Biceps - Both Left and Right(hands on hips, measure halfway between elbow and shoulder)

Waist - (bellybutton, or where you wear your pants, unless they are lowriders:))

Hips - (widest part, when viewed from the side, really your butt, too)

Thighs - both Left and Right(largest area, a few inches below hip/butt, you know, where those saddlebags hang out:surprised:)

Calves- Both Left and Right(in the pasture:big_smile: no, seriously...at the thickest part, usually about 2-3 inches below knee)

So - send in your stats and look for upcoming threads so you can plan your grocery lists and pack your gym bags:big_smile:

After looking at the workout, I think I'm going to have to. I love sissy squats! I don't think my training partner will mind...she's loved everything I've presented to her so far and has been very happy with the effectiveness of the workouts.

I'm in then, I'll get my stats to you in a day or two.

Thanks!
