I am going to start Chad Waterbur's routine called the Waterbury Method. Three days a week are devoted to working out and three are devoted to medium intensity jogging or GPP work. Can someone please explain to me what GPP work is?

We do Government Performance Project work but I doubt that's what you're looking for. Just did a google and there's quite a few hits: this link is so long that I doubt it will paste correctly - Just do a google search for gpp work and it comes up.

How can you start something that you do not know what it is?

Maybe similar to cardiovascualr work - general physical preparedness sounds like exercise ment to enhance function in daily activities... but, yeah, how can you start it if you don't know what it is?

GPP is designed to get your body ready to lift heavier weights. I suggest you go to West Side Barbell website, or this on http://www.elitefts.com/, or the others many have mentioned in your powerlifting thread and FREAKING READ!

www.deepsquatter.com is an awesome website for articles pertaining to strength. There are some good Westside articles on that site, too.

I read a few things and now i know what GPP work is. It is not my whole program so i dont know why you guys are telling me not to do it. Its just like 2 days a week. Anyway, now i have another question. Is there any GPP that can be done at the gym because i dont really own any weights or sleds that i can use outside of the gym.

Who said not to do it devin???I don't think you have a very good grasp on what your posts say...and if you have to ask if there are any GPP workouts that can be done at the gym...I don't thik you have a good grasp on it's meaning either.I think you need to do alot more research on what you are attempting to acheive...good luck to you though!:)

no i do know what GPP work is. One example is farmers walk where you hold heavy weights in each hand and walk with it. Another is tire flipping which would be like a farm tire which are heavy. Another is sled pulls where you attach a sled to your back with weight on it and jog or walk with it. However, all of these must be done outside of the gym. I wanted to know if anyone knows of any similar things that can be done inside the gym.

These are just a few that were suggested to you in this post..jbennet gave you a site to look into..so did mutt, and mike, and tim...all you did was look up the few things mentioned outright...there is a wealth of knowledge out there...general physical preparedness is just that...general...meaning broad..or all over strength...building strength all over in a general way...you could do just about anything to acheive that...why do you need someone to tell you how to do this...I'm not trying to be cold...but seriously...every one of your posts are questions you could figure on your own with just the slightest amount of research.

Dude... you're not winning any friends.

Think about it... what could you do similar to a tire flip in the gym? Probably not much without getting thrown out.

Farmer's walk... get the heaviest dumbells you can carry and walk...

I don't think there's a whole helluva lot you can swtich from GPP to the gym, which, I believe, is the purpose of the GPP.

If you want help quit being short with people.

As a full time employee, I don't have time to waste.
