A normal split, full body, or a fly by the seat make it up when you get there routine. Explain why, and for the ones that are very Technical try to reply in terms we all can understand.

Normal split... I like to take the time to hit the muscle groups that need to be hit.

Right now for me it is total body training. I train the major muscles 3 times per week with the big mulitjoint compound lifts. I throw in a little iso at the end for my weaknesses. I use different exercises each day and I am rotaing my rep scheme between 6x4, 5x7, 3x10.

I am a big fan of 'intuitive' training....that is working as needed. I use a set split, but if I feel like I haven't rested enough on a scheduled day for a bodypart, I may well do something else that I feel needs work anyway.
The rigid set training schedule becomes cumbersome at some point, almost like a job.

I really like the F.T. split I am using for progressive gains. My goal is to get fit so working out 5 days a week hitting each muscle group once per week and doing cardio is great for me untill I get into something different.

I always go to the gym with a plan. I always begin with that plan, but depending what my body feels like I sometimes will skip exercises, or add ones.
I think it is always good to have a plan, but you don't necessarily need to stick to it every time exactly as you planned before you go there. You have to listen to your body at times.

I'm a huge fan of tbt, because like bb1fit mentioned, if something doesn't feel right, I don't have to do it. If I am doing tbt and my shoulders don't feel recovered, then I don't have to shoulder press...
Right now I'm doing an upper/lower split, which is as far as I will ever split my training.

Usually doing one muscle group per week on a five day schedule. Always have a plan.

Ivan - you only do one muscle group per week??? Did you mean one muscle group per day on a five day schedule?

i got a general idea what i will do but nothing concrete....i lean towards doing big lifts that cover vertical/horizontal push/pull and some lower body exercises...once a week or less for each key big lift....heavy...that's it...cant really coin it TBT or upper/lower or any other split....i like to stay with lifts for a while and then once a while to switch it up cycling in another big lift/variation instead....perhaps change rep scheme slightly....dont really obsess about having a specific program or rotating everything every x weeks or whatnot...

As an example, today I was doing Bi's Tri's and Abs. I will repeat that next Friday. For about 8 more weeks.
Monday, Shoulders, Fore arms, Abs, and not done again until next Monday.
Tues day- Legs, and not done again untill next Tuesday. I won't list my whole routine here but that's what it look's like. Started this 4 weeks ago, and working well.
