So I started out many years ago as a 340+lb fat man. I will not go into great detail, but I got some 30lb DB and started to lift, thus the iron bug was planted. I may not have gotten to my final goal yet as I have let myself get derailed a few times in the last 10 years. I still keep comng back for more. Still in just a month I have lost 15lbs while keeping most of the muscle I have. HOw you ask? What is your secert O mighty weight loss master? I do not know. ALl I am doing is eating 5 small high protein, good source of carbs and fats. I drink about 1.5-2 gallons of water a day. I train one body part a day plus 20 mins of cardio 3-4 times a week. That is all plain and simple. This is not a hard diet plan to follow I eat a lot and I rarely feel hungry. Maybe I am just lucky, maybe the scale is broken(which is my guess) but the tape measure does not lie! A month ago my waist measure ment crept back to 52inches. Now it is a shade under 50. And it will keep going down Brothers and Sisters! Amen! I wanted to post this so those of you, who are at that stage where the results are slowing and you are ready to quit, can see that it is worth it. Hang in there this is not a quick journey, it is a life time of work and rewards.-------------- LIFT HEAVY! BECOME STRONG, LIKE BULL! |

Great job Mutt! I know you can do it! You are an inspiration to us all :) This certainly is a way of life for me to - can't imagine ever giving up now! Results are certainly not as quick as they used to be,I agree - but they do come about: a small victory - recently I saw one of my 'slow to show' forearms muscles clearly defined and sticking out - well that was cause to celebrate in itself! I felt like going around the gym pointing at it and showing everyone (they all think I'm crazy anyway, so it wouldn't surprise them anyways!) lol

Thanks for the motivation Mutt! It's great to hear the stories and know that even those who have been at this for years still see improvements and have set goals.
Yesterday, I was thinking through my workout and actually found myself looking forward to it, even though it included Sissy Squats! Five years ago or even a year ago I never would have done that... This is a GOOD kind of addiction! t -------------- Tim "I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self." Aristotle |

Great job Mutt!!! know the darn world is going to tip in my direction lol.-------------- I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain |

Great Job Mutt..Keep it up man, your right this is a Life long Journey!! You've Inspired me to Share my Story as well. I have worked out on and off for the last 4 yrs now, I've made muscle gains which I still have, But the last year has been off, and I am no where near what I want to be as far as conditioning and Body Fat. I was about 215 5 weeks ago, when I decided it was time to get back into it. In 5 weeks I am now at 200, and Feeling great. I just noticed today my pants fitting abit better so thats a great Motivator. I don't think I've lost any mucsle, as my Measurements are pretty well the same (arms, legs, Chest) My Goal is to hit at least 180lbs in 8-10 weeks, and with my Current Results I now know it can happen. Like you I have been eating small and frequent meals, high in Protien, and Clean Carbs (can't forget these!) and keeping my diet clean. I was never one to drink Pop or juice really, so taking in lots of water is natural for me. I workout 4x's a Week, and I follow my weight workouts with 40-45 min of Cardio. |

Way to go Mutt! Great stuff to hear from one of our top members! Keep the success story going. You are a credit to us all here at FT!
Speeder, congrats to you also. As you both are finding out, diet is the key. Train hard, have a solid consistent diet with adequate nutrients, and you will see the results you so desire! Congrats to both of you!! Can't wait to hear your next stepping stone on your way. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... |
