Hey just wondering now that its tommarow...

will any of you be doing anything different that day?
Will you be going over a friends house...or having the day off of work or do something just different that day?

tommarow i would go to school as usual....and i think the whole united states at 9:30 for schools will be doing a moment of silence....and then when I come home when it gets dark I am gonna light my candles on my driveway..

sooo what are you doing?

im not going to change a damn thing of my daily routine: im going to work, to the gym, etc. anything else would be giving those freaks who attacked us some sort of sick and twisted sense of achieving their goal.

this is not to say that i will not remember. i will watch some of the tv coverage, wear red, white and blue, fly my flag, and honor those who have fallen. but i am past the victim stage of the recovery. i will NEVER forget what happen; however, as i move on with my life now, i want and insist that every single one of those tin horn, cave dwelling, backwards living, extremist nuts, insane lunatics be snuffed out like the cockroches that they are, where ever they are.

my two cents..........

I'm not changing anything either. I too much other stuff to do. I will stop for a moment of silence in my own personal prayer time that I set aside for myself everyday but that is about it. Also, I love my country and I have served my country so I think I can give an honest opinion to the fact that YES New York suffered most of the property damage but the entire United States and other countries suffered as well. Therefore, in my opinion enough with the pain and suffering that New York went through, how about the rest of the states. And if we keep reminding ourselves day after day after day about what happend by special tv programs, memorial services every day, etc... then we will not be able to heal from this and move on with our lives which is exactly what those terrorists wanted.

yea thats what i basically ment. I am going to have a part of the day where I go over what what happend and pray and stuff...buts it no going to keep me from doing what I am always doing. Because if you do that, all those terriost people will think your a let-down....just mourning over it.

stay strong people;)

I would love to take the day off, but, becuase of the line of work I'm in, that would be impossible. One of my positions in the company I work for is Disaster Recovery Coordinator. Basically what that means is that anytime something bad happens to a company, whether it be total system failure or terrorist attack, I have to be there to make sure that the companies don't go under. Plus, I have way to much work to do tomorrow. Maybe I'll just try to increase the intensity on my workout. (Chest Day woohoo!!!)
So, I guess I won't be doing anything different at all.
Gotta love some jobs.

God Bless America!

A moment of silence to commemorate this day and a big salute to the men and women in the U.S. armed forces. From a former Marine, Semper Fidelis!!!

It's a heavy weight today.

Five years have gone by and the sights on the news are as vivid in my mind as they were five years ago on the TV.

Shocked, sad and angry. That's how I felt about it then and how I feel about it today.

Raise your flag, spend a moment in thought, and don't forget.

I have gone about my day as I normally would...but with a heavy heart and a deep sense of loss.....I kissed my family goodbye this morning...as I do every morning...but today I think about those that kissed their loved ones goodbye for the last time five years ago...and those that have kissed their soldiers goodbye for the last time since this became a reality for us all.I read a beautiful tribute the other day...it referanced private ryan the movie...how in one of the last scenes Tom Hanks character tells private ryan that he needed to be worthy of all those that died to bring him home safely...the author of the tribute had gone to see his son come home from the war...how proud and grateful he was to see him....and he noticed a man that had come to welcome home the troops as well...only his son came home in a coffin...and the author told himself he too must be worthy....worthy to have his own son home and alive...so I tell myself today...I will be worthy to have my own family alive and well...and know that...united we stand...

God Bless....all.

And it always will be.

My oldest son was 4 when this happened and so he doesn't really remember...so every year he asks me about it and what happened that makes 9/11 so special. I go to the drawer of our china cabinet where I keep all the newspapers and magazines from that day and month and we flip through them because I want him to get the full impact. Not the watered down version that we see on the news today. I want him to see the pictures of the planes flying into the buildings. I even have a recorded news broadcast on my PC from that day. They say it's too hard and we shouldn't watch it, but I personally think every American has to watch those buildings falling down again and again to make sure we don't forget. As soon as we do...then we might as well hand over everything this country has worked so hard for...cause it's worthless at that point. If you haven't heard the song "Have you forgotten"...if not go here http://www.minibite.com/america/forgotten.htm

Seems like every year...even this one 5 years later I get teary eyed and he seems to understand. Eventually he'll remember it and will stop asking, but I'll probably still pull out the articles.

Has anyone seen the movie World Trade Center? My wife and I were going to see it last week, but I decided to hold off and I'll watch it at home.

I don't think I need to say anything else that hasn't already been said above, except:

That day had changed allot and maybe everything but 1 damn thing is for sure!

It did not change me!

I refused to live my life in fear with the life I was dealt and the cards in my hand I hold and that day was sure a shock and very sad but all it did to me was add gasoline to the fire already burning inside of me!

I have to be totally honest as I believe it put allot more fear into them then it did us as they always said they only wanted to knock off the tops of the buildings and didn't expect the US to act on it as we Did!

They and I say They went running and hiding as we took a stand.

Ok Sept 11th has to be a day each year that reminds me how PROUD I am and very lucky I am to be an American!

While I still do my day to day thing, it has changed me a tad... I think about family more than I may have six years ago. This Toby Keith song kinda sums it up:

TOBY KEITH LYRICS

"My List"

Under an old brass paperweight is my list of things to do today
Go to the bank and the hardware store, put a new lock on the cellar door
I cross 'em off as I get 'em done but when the sun is set
There's still more than a few things left I haven't got to yet

Go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Look up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Wouldn't change the course of fate but cuttin' the grass just had to wait
'Cause I've got more important things like pushin' my kid on the backyard swing
I won't break my back for a million bucks I can't take to my grave
So why put off for tomorrow what I could get done today

Like go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Look up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Raise a little hell, laugh 'til it hurts
Put an extra five in the plate at church
Call up my folks just to chat
It's time that I make time for that
Stay up late, then oversleep
Show her what she means to me
Catch up on all the things I've always missed
Just start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Under an old brass paperweight
Is my list of things to do today

Today I think about the troops...this event started a huge snowball that grows daily.I work right down the road from a military hospital...almost EVERYDAY I see a soldier come in that has been badly burned and missing limbs...something that used to be a rare sight is something I see almost daily now.I see in the soldiers eyes them looking to see if I will treat them differently...look at them differently...I look at them with great respect...and they appreciate it...
The other day a family came in...the man was badly burned his ears were gone and his eyelids...his leg was gone and his arm was bolted to a bar...but what struck me MOST...was his family...he was with his wife and 4 year old child...and they didn't even see it....they were just happy to have him alive...it is a beautiful thing to see.

Remember your troops...they remember you.

Well I wont change anything.... I will continue to pray for our troops, LEOS and FFS as I do every day.

Why remember these guys on one day only? Why not take a minute out of every day and thank those that are willing to DIE for us?

I ran this morning thinking about this day and all it represents... A heavy, respectful heart for all those self-sacrificing men and women who died, and continue to die, as a result of the events this day, and an angry, enraged heart for the demons (on our side as well as theirs) who orchestrated it.
