Two years ago in a visit to the doctor my blood pressure was 230/120. Thats stroke city folks. I was on 2 blood pressure meds. My cholestorol was 226.
This morning I had a colonoscopy Scope said I was ok. My BP was 110/67 and I now use only 1 BP med. That may go away too! My cholesterol was 179. The day I started FT, I could squat 165, bench 135, deadlift 125. My dead is now 333, bench 237, and my squat is 446. And I don't even have to use depends. If it is possible af my age just imagine where you young-uns can go if you stick with it!!!!!! -------------- Waterskis with buffalos Charlie | |

Jonathan , that was the main reason for this post. I think folks need to know that you can control your body to a point. I've read here that people have overcome ailments from diabetes to BP and numerous other potentially fatal or crippling illnesses. My wife has actually overcome several female problems with simple diet and exercise changes.

How true this is! My wife is a diabetic. She was taking insulin shots and BP medication. Since we got her diet in order and her working out on a regular basis, she has been completely med free for around 3 years now! It is a very healthy lifestlye, and to boot a great body can be had also!

Charlie you're a gem, and one day, I'll get half of what you're benching . geezers rock!
I thought I'd share some too. so lemme see. I joined on 6-16-04. I've asthma, and felt sickly a lot from stress at work and lack of sleep. For my old profile, see... http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=20&t_ix=125 My <b>NEW</b> profile: 145.5 lbs sadly I'm still at 5'4" tall  24.1% body fat glutes/hams/quads - legs are stronger, added a total of 30 lbs on the squats and the deadlifts since I started ft. Shape is coming along on schedule...calves are tightened. Hamstrings are becoming stronger. As for my glutes..I wanna take a picture of them and make a poster out of it! yeah, it's that cute imo. abs - I can see some definition in my abs now. Two more packs to get and I'm good to go. Will start adding resistance to them soon so they'll tighten up some. delts/tris/bis - My triceps and my biceps are coming along beautifully. I can see the u-shape when I flex it. Id say I still have about 2-3 inches of fat to shave off. for them to really show. I also added about 10 lbs to it . Shoulders are great! I love boxing. back - My lower back now has that utterly beautiful dip right before it reaches my glutes..the small muscles along my upper back are beginning to show. Lats are great. Added 30-35 lbs to them since I joined. chest - Lifting stronger, added 20 lbs on the bench. I feel the tightness just fine. I think I'm at 38 cup A & 3/4. I want them to stay the way they are 38b :( but alas...some things must be sacrificed. Now I feel invincible. So does this ft stuff really work. HELL YEAH. :dumbbell: -------------- The best victories are won not by adversity and brute force. Learn the enemy and overcome it. Now for the love of god...put the donut...DOWN!!! -cupcake- |

some of you know this already, but I'll add what ft did for me:
I have joint hypermobility syndrome, but since joining FT and concentrating on strength training, most of my symptoms have disappeared. My rheumatologist told me I'd "cured myself" Thanks to FT I'm also eating a sensible diet now - about 500 extra cals a day and not putting on weight  |
