Don't let go jnellie. I was off for 8 weeks. I've been back since oct 7. My stregnth came back after about 2-3 weeks. I am heavier on most of my sets than when I stopped. Some fat has to go, but I see it starting to happen.
Just stay positive, keep coming to the FT site and talk to us here. If you can, drop by your gym and see whats going on. The muscles have memory so thats in your favour.
Just a dumb questio....Can you do light arm and shoulders?

dude, that hope of not turning into a couch potato is a great start: it shows that you are not willing to just give in. it doesnt matter how long you're gone, just that you will return.
take care, bro'.......

Just make sure you keep up your eating and get enough calories. Expect to gain a little weight while you're off, but rest assured that you'll cut it all when you get back in action.
Don't worry about those muscles. Muscles have a sort of memory. There are ligaments wrapped around your muscles that restrict growth. As your muscles grow, these ligaments stretch out, and they don't ever shrink. Whatever muscle you might lose, you'll gain back quickly. Best wishes to you.
