As I have seen it called in the workout logs:)

I know that PMS sucks, I think the whole thing sucks, but you have to realize that if you give yourself a break or the permission to eat whatever we want for a week once a month, or not workout for most of a week once a month, that is 1/4th of your time that you are off your plan.

I absolutelt hate working out when on my period. It is gross, I feel gross, etc... BUT i always feel better when i do the workout, it eases the fatigue I feel, it relieves the cramps, it relaxes me.
The same thing goes for the food cravings - I get them (thought not as badly as I did when I didn't regulate my food better), but giving into sugar and salt cravings will just result in a vicous circle of blaoting or blood sugar ups and downs, resulting in more cravings and feeling crappier.

Stick it out and quit babying yourselves so much, look for healthy alternatives to those cravings, take a hot bubble bath, go for a walk or run, get into the gym and drink extra water.

Okay - now you can blast me for being such a b*tch:)

I have experienced that it lessens the actual time of my period when I work out. I always like that benefit. :)

ok... soooo right now I hate Amy... but I figured if I can not get my coffee in bed( hubby out of town), finish building our privacy fence with the help of my 12 yr old daughter, and do Amy's wonderful leg day (oh those partial &*(%(%*$D*&^&^%$ hold **^&^^#^ squats) all on the day I started my period.. then ANYONE can workout through theirs.

Note:* Amy knows I think she is wonder woman even if she tortures us with her evilness*

time for a PWO shake...

Good on you, georgia girl!!!!!

All it takes is some gumption and get-go!

And a little push from a certain evil trainer....:)

Well, I'm a loser on this one because Friday, my lower back was cramped up so bad that I couldn't even think about working out lower body. I didn't want to over train my upper body so I just stayed home and tried to be up and active cleaning my mother's house for her.

dfly - with extreme cases, it is understandable, sometimes all you can do is take some muscle relaxer/pain reliever and lie down and wait for relief.

My post was mainly directed at those who use PMS as an excuse to fall completely off track eating and not working out...quite often it is mental and not really physically debilitating.

Oh, I know....I just felt that I could have gone and done something...even if it was only walking the treadmill. Of course, this is after the fact, Friday morning I was really in pain. I always have my cramps in my back and not my stomach, I'm lucky that it only lasts a day though. I can be greatful for that.
