On a personal note why do all the insecure losers feel the need to post that people like me need to stop lifting and do cardio cause I am fat? Like I did not know that. This is also with out reading ANYTHING about me and my goals..ok I feel better.

Mutt congratulations on the progress!

The reason is ignorance. You can only pity the ignorant. Perhaps try to educate them if u think they can listen to reason. If anything lifting weights is far superior to cardio for losing weight.

Thanks Leo and Fly! I had a realization Sunday that is in my journal log. But thought to put it in here. I do not mind the job I have overall but the owner is doing things behind the backs of all the employees and telling one of us one thing and others another.

That said I will stay here to get to where i want to go. I am looking into the many Colleges and schools here as well as researching the possibility of my becomeing a Certified Trainer. I need to figure out how to pay for the cert and all, then find employeement in a club/gym/ place that will pay as much as I make now.

Last night at 930PM my sister Stacey called me. My Uncle Towney Passed away at 1PM Wed afternoon. He had been fighting various cancers and tumors for a couple of years and finally could not go on. While I was not super close to him, he was a very big part of my and my 3 sisters and 3 brothers childhoods. He has 2 sons, and will be missed.

I am angry, sad, we lost since 2000 my Pop Pop, (Towney dad), Pop died in 2000, in 2004 Mee Maw passed, and now Towney.

I know Ka Cancer is a nasty thing. I have been thinking about dedicating the strongman comp in May to Towney and Mee Maw, they both died from cancer.

So I woke up this morning and the left knee is about 90% better. I still have pain in it but no where close to what I went thru this weekend. I can actually bend it and lift without that much pain.

Ok this is fun for me. I am starting a new routine. It will be based on compound lifts ( as always) have a few more <gasp> reps, and even more ISO movements.
Day one Legs (lower Body) and shoulders
Day Two Arms
Day three back and chest (back meaning lats and upper)

IT is 8am on Thursday. I am sitting at work. I have such an obession with training that even now about 10 hours away from the workout I am thinking about it. Should I do 5 sets of thise or 6. SHould I do this exercise or that one? This is my life and has been for a long time. I thought back in Sept 06 that this part was going to be gone. I am close to gaining back my old strength on a few lifts. OThers are taking their sweet time.

Life is getting older for me I turn 37 in Nov, yet I feel like I an 25 still. Sure I take longer to recover, but that is ok. I can still out lift the younger crowd. My home life is getting crazier as they boys get bigger...more time has to be given to them. They need Gorilla Daddy to be there to play with them.....that will of course cut into my training time......how to fix that? I go after they sleep and or train at home....if there is a will there will be a way folks.

I am hell bent to bench 405, squat 500 and deadlift 500.....if it takes me 5 years I will hit those numbers!:dumbbell:

Another week come and gone. Good training and the start of what I hope is 2-3x a week cardio. It is very nice out there today and I am stuck here for another hour and 20 mins. I so want to be gone out the door down the road. Makes me wish over and over i had a job closer to home, or better yet one that actual was doable from home.....oh well this one is not that bad and pays the bills...good luck to all and to all a good day!

So an update. Sunday hit a half mile and then a mile walk. Last night hada chance to use the treadmill at the Y. GOT A MILE!!!!

You know looking back on my life, something I do from time to time. I see a tremoundous amount of wasted time and energy. I had more than my share of angst and sorrow at least in my eyes. I can dredge up still today, decades after the stuff happend, things that hurt me, people that picked on me made life hell. But for what reason? I spent so much time hating and blaming folks for the way I was living and headed. It is only now in my late 30's that I see it was I, myself that held me back. I gave my fears and torments life and fuel....it was me no one else. I lived in misery, plotted to take my life, more than once, over things that I helped create. Sure, I did not plan to have Barry Clawson come up and pull my gym shorts down.....twice, but I could have fought back. I ate myself to the point of no return. I cried and racked my self in misery over this and other things. No one else.

SO here I am at this point in my life. I have 2 kids one on the way and the absoulte best woman in the world by my side. There is nothing that can stop me now in reaching what I want. Except me.

I debated posting this here, but some are not Pro members and should know.

We went in on the 25ht to find out what we were having. We got to the ultrasound and found out that our baby, had a type of Potters Syndrome. That is he had no kidneys or bladder. In short on Saturday morning at 420am Gabriel Scott Townsend was born. We had gone in thursday and were induced. He was born 8oz and 8 inches long. He unlike most babys at this age(18weeks along in the pregnancy) was born alive and lived 2 hours. He was so perfect and beautiful it was hard to know he was dying. needless to say I am my family are heartbroken. Thanks to all for their support.

Hey Scott sorry to hear about all the misfortunes that have happened to you lately. I think these are the times that allow us to reflect upon our lives and perhaps be more thankful for the things that do go right or the things that we do have. Losing a child is a great sadness and I am sure I cannot truly understand it until I have my own children. However this gives more reason to be thankful for your two boys.

Perhaps the job situation is just another opportunity to reevaluate what you really want to do in life. You seem to have a drive towards fitness so perhaps becoming a personal trainer is something that you would enjoy. Once you get established the pay is good and the time is more flexible compared with many other jobs.

have you tried melatonin for sleep? it helps me a lot when I am having difficulty falling asleep...I take as much as 12-15mg and that usually knocks me out in under 30 min...3-4 hours a night just doesnt cut it....

hope you feel better soon :)

When it rain it pours:
Planned to go to the Y to lift tonight. Wife calls at 415 she can hardly walk is bleeding heavily and is in pain. A word on pain with my wife. Her pain threshold is beyond normal. Way beyond. Her 10 would kill most normal folks I think and I am not joking. FOR her to want to go to the ER for pain is unreal. So I rushed home took her to the ER. We waited an hour called her doctor cause Chris does not like this particular ER. The doc said as long as the bleeding was undercontrol to go home. SHe needs a D&C not too sure what that is. All I know is once again she is in pain. SHe went to the zoo and saw babies and that made her so sad. I hate that I am nto able to help her out more.

Thanks Cristal. I am glad you are doing so well...miss on here the last few months.

Sitting here at 1242am tired as hell. Got up at 7am saturday morning took Alex Joey and chris to Marineland. We walked and walked and walked....lol had the best time we have had as a family. Chris and I talked about Gabe and we are having a memorial service in June. A celebration of life and his life tho short was beyond HUGE to us. No one that has not lost like this can truly know what it is like. I am so thankfull for all of you being there in whatever capcity yu can be.

I will let you all know details about the service.....I would ask you just think about my family and keeps us in mind.
