LOL Shouldn't hurt it a bit as long as that french toast was whole wheat with no powdered sugar, the sausage patties were lo-fat turkey and the bacon was that new veggie stuff. Sometimes the cravings outdo the will power and everyone does it once in awhile. |

Just to add onto what Mike said, I don't eat pork or beef, so I tried the turkey patties. 26 grams of fat per pattie!! NOT GOOD. This was Jennie-O brand turkey sausage so watch out. -------------- Practice does NOT make perfect. Perfect practice does. |

Can we just make this a confessional??I had two Reese's PB Cups (just one pack, not 2 packs). I couldn't help myself, well, ok, I could have but... I was stressing bad... I follow my diet faithfully except for (usually) 1 day a week when I treat myself (and that is usually Shells and Cheese... lol Mac and cheese is my downfall... ) -------------- pg *The prettygentleone isn't so gentle anymore! ^v^ --The second you quit, then it's official - you're a failure. |

I like to have a cheat day, that way I don't feel cheated the rest of the week. I would die if I couldn't pig out once in awhile. I have a huge sweet tooth, but I have done really good so far and as long as I eat healthy the rest of the week, I don't stress about it.-------------- Lisa |

OK I have a confession...remember that example diet post you started, prettygentle? I am in fact one of those people that absolutely love pop tarts! The strawberry kind with the frosting and sprinkles! Yummy! And, on another note, I love veggie substitute "meats." Instead of turkey sausages, try Morningstar sausage patties, they are so tasty (10 g protein, 3 g carbs, 3 g fat, 80 cals). |

I cannot really cheat like you guys (since my tummy turns against me and gives me baaaad aches if I just think of smelling to a doughnut....) but there is something that I like a liiiittle tiny bit tooo much and that's marchmallows......Hmmmm I wish that they could start putting proteins and vitamines in those things so I would have a better excuse to eat them. Now do you feel bad after your cheat meal? Do you train extra hard or do more cardio? That's an interesting question....... I guess I tend to do more cardio myself..... Trying desperately to burn off all the extra calories.... (-; Nice subjet jnellie! -------------- - Nina :o) La vie est toujours aussi belle..... |

If it's a really BAD and excessive cheat, I'll usually up the activity to try to get rid of it... but for the most part, for small cheats, I don't change much. I think what makes the difference for me is: 1. How much did it change the number of cal's I've had for the day... 2. Have I been good the rest of the week... 3. If I avg. out my cal's for the week, is the cheat really something that's going to crash my entire diet? Usually, I'm ok with it. I know if I don't treat myself every now and then, I'm going to go on a huge binge... better to have occasional little cheats than one huge binge. Right? -------------- pg *The prettygentleone isn't so gentle anymore! ^v^ --The second you quit, then it's official - you're a failure. |

I have read numerous times, I think most recently in Universal Matters that having a cheat meal once or even twice a week is good, often necessary to as some folks put it, 'keep your sanity'. Also, it was noted that this breaks up a food routine that your body may be adjusting to and may in fact speed up metabolism. Anyways, after eating an entire 12 inch supreme pizza with anchovies, the aticle made me feel better. I TRY and cheat at least once a week, usually it ivolves pizza.-------------- Ischjli "Seven days without exercise makes one weak." |

I have a cheat day every week. It also differs every week. I usually have a eat out cheat day. But I still try to kep it good for me(chicken breast etc.) I do not feel bad about it since it helps me stay on track the rest of the week. Rock on! |

I have always maintained a rigid diet during the work week, and eat pretty much whatever I want on the weekends. I don't really eat anything that unhealthy though. I think pizza is as bad as it gets for me. Well that and beer. -------------- Practice does NOT make perfect. Perfect practice does. |

Beer, good old beer. I saw Jimmy Buffett on Tuesday, it was madness. I never cared for his music but we got tickets and it was one of those things I had to check out. Mucho, mucho cervesas were consumed. What a blast. -------------- Ischjli "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." -- T. S. Elliot |

C'mon, you don't know Buffett? He has hits like 'Cheeseburger In Paradise' and 'Margaritaville'. It's pretty uninspiring music, just fun, sit around on the beach and drink music. -------------- Ischjli "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." -- T. S.
