Another lb gone, down to 135. Total inches lost according to mybodycomp.com is 9.96". I attribute this degree of success, which in my world is huge, to walking 2 miles before breakfast at 3-5 times per week. I don't understand it, but I like it.

Today's vitals are 39/32/36.5 c/w/h

I go now to leave small gifts for the track gods.

According to mybodycomp.com my bodyfat has gone from 15.5 to 17.2% I don't get it. My lifts however are on point. Challenge me if you dare. Except jdelts, bb1, charlie, mmabaihomfisgkskcusudfs, howdie, asimmer, carivan, anni, andrew, datdani, david, veda, deetee, lindamarie, and anyone else in the comp. The rest of you are mine!

There is an explanation there about some hip to waiste mumbojumbo. Don't worry about it. You can get calipers online or at the fitness store for about $20. You can get electronic calipers that do the math but they're pricey. If you get the cheap ones just send your measurements to BB1 or my wife. They speak math.

Hec,

Be sure to look at your lean body mass and your fat mass. Sometimes I can see a gain in bodyfat percentage when I lose water due to dehydration. For example if completely hydrated I have a lean body mass of 218lbs and a fat mass of 50 lbs than my body fat percentage is 18.6%. However, if I become dehydrated, let's say down by 1.5 litres, which equals 3.3 lbs, than my new numbers will be 50 lbs of fat and 214.7lbs of lean body mass. Now although I have gained no fat, my bodyfat percentage goes up to 18.9 %. Not as drastic an example as I hoped to show, but I think you get the point. Look at all of the numbers before you get discouraged.

ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!!! I cannot believe it, I had to get on and get off the scale three times before I actually believed it - I have made it to 220!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen 220 in, like, ah, FOREVER! I know, I know, I'm still wayyyyyy heavy, but I'm wayyyyyyyy excited that I have made it this far after six weeks or so since I started getting serious. When I weighed in Sunday morning the scale said 222 but it was teetering between 222 and 223 so I posted my 223, but the teetering kept teetering! I hope my husband isn't messin' with the darn thing trying to make me feel good, I will seriously hurt him -- wait, wait...yep, it is still zero'ed out, so I think I've really gotten to 220!!!! Next goal is 210!!! And when I hit 200, I'm gonna scream so loud you will all get nosebleeds! Thanks again all! I hope I don't sound like I'm buttkissing 'cause I hate buttkissers - but you guys are truly soooo awesome with your encouragement and the laughs I get every day, I just like to keep reminding you!!

Awesome momofjandb & Charlie! This challenge is going very well!

Welcome, zoereynolds01, I would suggest checking out the nutritional area and see what you can do to improve your eating habits and check out the exercise area to see what you can do for an exercise program to help you if you haven't already. I believe everyone would most likely agree that losing weight has to come for your own motivation and desire to be healthy, your here so you must be ready! Good luck to you!

I don't think Im going to be much of a threat on the weightloss challenge. LOL. Although I seem to be losing inches Im not going anywhere with the scales. Not to worry, Im fitting into my clothes so much better now. One day the scales will say Im losing and then I'll be on to do a big happy dance. I hope we have another challenge when that happens!

Donna, your losing inches is awesome and you are so right, the scale will budge, you are working hard and I am sure from what it sounds like with your great workouts you are gaining muscle mass, so the scale isn't a reliable tool at the moment, but keep checking, after weeks of working out I started to see just a pound here and there and now it is coming off very consistently, you will be thrilled, I know, when you see the numbers move, but for now it is fabulous that your inches are just melting away!! You go girl!

Thanks Veda, Im more excited about what the tape is saying than the scales anyway. Still need to work at a clean diet, I reckon that's the catalyst right now. I do good 5 out of 7 days, but the other two days are shocking. LOL Although shocking now is nothing compared to shocking 6 months ago. Now I know if I've had a bad day when I eat too much bread, back then it was if I've eaten two blocks of chocolate!  Im actually surprised to think that I haven't had any chocolate in about 3 weeks and I haven't even had cravings for it, yippeeee.
Thanks again :)

Your doing great, Donna! You know, today I had a small piece of a four layer chocolate mint truffle birthday cake I made for my son's birthday (he picked) and I got these funny shakes, it happened once before when I had something somewhat the same about two weeks ago - I'm beginning to think it is sugar shock! Seriously, I haven't put sugar on anything and I try to eat things that don't have sugar or very little in them, maybe I've finally come to the point my body is going to revolt against sugar, yey!!

Wow, that's great! Sort of anyway. My biggest thing is with any sort of sat fat at the moment. Can't eat it, which is great, but if I eat anything with it without knowing, I get sick as a dog! It's horrible, I never realised just what that stuff was doing to my body. Imagine your body being used to something that makes you so sick! Anyway, it's all good, it keeps me away from all the bad stuff. Yay for me too.

Hi DeeTee, I've been on vacation and haven't been posting. I think you are doing just great with the inches lost. I would prefer inches to pounds. Keep up the good work. I came back from vacation 4 pounds heavier. I got on the scale this morning and they are gone. I had to work extra hard to get rid of them. I won't do that again. I was in Orlando visiting my sis. Would you know it, the girl can't cook a lick. (smile) We ate out a lot. lol You hang in there, you're doing just awesome. Linda

Less than 2 weeks to go. Anybody still in this thing or will I win by default. Geezers never quit.

Deadlift 3x285 4x225 4x225 4x225

Flatbench 3x210 4x140 4x140 4x140

squats 3x385 4x245 4x245 4x245

Weifgt down 11 lbs and seems to be leveling out. I am dropping cals by 250 per day for the week to kickstart the process again.

I thought check in was last Monday and was too weary to check my measurements for fear of a total setback! I am going to dare check today....

Okay, here they are....

Since I am in the weight loss area, I weighed and reweighed myself and my scale fluctuates between 219 and 221, so I will average my check in weight to 220.

My measurements changed a bit, though my darn thighs went up a 1/2 inch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT where I need more, but hoping it is added muscle as I work this area a lot and this fat will sometime soon melt a bit faster! I also gained 1/2 inch in my weak wrists??

Age 42
Sex F
Height 67.52 in (1.72 m)
Weight 220 lbs (100.00 kg)
Neck 14 in
Shoulder 45.00 in
Chest 45.50 in
Waist 37 in
Abdomen 38 in
Hips 43 in
Thigh 28.50 in
Knee 15.50 in
Calf 17.50 in
Ankle 9 in
Arm 14 in
Forearm 10 in
Wrist 6.50 in

I have lost an additional 5 inches, bringing my total inches lost to 22.5 inches to date, which I believe is 90 points?

The good news is that I went from a start of 103 pounds of fat mass and 126 lean muscle mass and 45.04% body fat to:
88 pounds of fat mass and 133 lbs lean body mass and a now 39.78% body fat%!

I have gained 7 pounds of lean muscle and lost 15 pounds of body fat www.mybodycomp.com says. I also am down 5.26% of body fat%.

I could be doing better and the next two weeks I am going to work harder with weights and cardio. Swimming and boxing seems to be helping, though I broke the hanger in half that holds my boxing bag up one day when I slammed it good, lol!

I am getting stronger, my breathing is getting easier and I feel better every day both physically and mentally (unless I don't get my sleep!!). I think that is something that can't be measured but is of utmost importance as it is a better tool to show our progress! I am thrilled about my waist and ab loss, but wish my darn thighs would give it up and lose something! My chest, just below my collar bone, and above my boobs is noticably less fat and I love that! My arms are getting nicely defined and I am liking that a lot! I will soon wear shorts and give myself one more month and then hopefully I can wear shorts for the first time in many, many years...my legs haven't taken that much of a loss of inches in general, but they are shaping up nicely and hopefully in the next month some of the fat will fade and I will feel confident and have a little time of summer left to wear some shorts!

Thanks for the support all of you, I like being accountable and knowing that you all are routing for me, too, as I am you! Good luck to you all!!

...............UP SCOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday I have an upper and lower scope scheduled. To prep for this procedure invloves a thorough cleaning of the plumbing system.

I am presuming that I'll lose 5 lbs or so. I plan on weighing the morning of the procedure. That will be my official challange weight final. I have set new PR's on ALL lifts. With the combination of weight loss and lift gains I will win. Be sure you start compiling your stats since this fiasco ends Saturday.

Send your lifting stats to Dani and post all other results. I am going to double post this announcement in the trash can post too.

Effective for Wednesday NOBODY can say I'm full of sh**!!!!!!

I have stocked up on heavy duty laxatives and diuretics in a last ditch attempt to lose some weight. I'm also thinking about doing atkins induction as I understand it's perfect for spurious weight loss too.

Charlie, please refer to my above post stats as everything has stayed the same, but here in brief is my ending challenge post:

For inches lost: I had a total of 22.5 inches lost, which I believe is 90 points total as of today.

For BodyFat lost: I went from a start of 103 pounds of fat mass and 126 lean muscle mass and 45.04% body fat to 88 pounds of fat mass and 133 lbs lean body mass and a now 39.78% body fat%, so I am down 5.26% of body fat%.

For Weight lost: I have gained 7 pounds of lean muscle and lost 15 pounds of body fat www.mybodycomp.com says but if you are looking for scale weight loss mine is 8 pounds on scale.

I have enjoyed this challenge and it has done a lot to motivate me, I pulled the muscle around my lung and it feels like a broken rib and have been at rest this week, but I am still very happy with my results thus far and am not giving up and have learned that I really MISS working out terribly and am so anxious to get back in there!!!!! I will be working full time soon and am looking into a gym I can join since the city I am working in has some to offer and I am thrilled with that and hope my 14 will join me!

Well, I know that all of you did great and am looking forward to hearing all your results! A pat on the back to you all!!!!!!

Well guys and gals,

The month of July provided many obstacles and combined with my mental block when it comes to competitions my numbers are pretty weak.

Deadlift 395 (no improvement)
Bench Press 275
Squat 400

Final weight 263.8
Final BF% 18.46 %

So there it is. It has been fun and disappointing at the same time.

Thanks,
Daniel Love
