I like freeweights too but sometimes I like some machines.. smith squats.. leg curls, and leg extensions I like on machines more.. and I guess there is a smaller chance of hurting yourself.. can't tell you how many times I 'almost' slipped and would of ended up with a weird injury with freeweights... but I don't remember ever remember messing up with machines.. but then again I don't think i've ever gotten as good a workout from machines as I have from freeweights.. I think there was a topic on this a while ago.. its mostly a matter prefrence...

I like free weights most machines are designed for smaller people and they do not fit me at all.

free weights. 99% of the lifts i did could not and can not be re-created on a machine.

I like to mix it up. I like to do different exercises so that I don't get bored, but yeah, I have to agree that free weights I like more ( I don't have to weight for the lighter weights as much as a machine). It usually gets me in and out of the gym faster.
