I haven't tried it yet but I would assume its probably like the 12 week ab program where it starts out easy and gradually gets harder... I saw in another thread that at the end your supposed to take 2 weeks off of your training for it.. so the last few weeks must be intense...

Hmmm Jnellie, I think the muscle mass program is hard already. You have to lift heavy and it's partly compound exercises who use lots of muscle groups and energy to do.

No the exercises wont change but the number of reps.

Yeah...the key is lifting heavy! Although, once in a while, I'll throw in an extra set or a couple of additional exercises to keep me "challenged."

Going heavy is the key. I will warn you, though: LIFTING HEAVY IS ADDICTIVE!! My entire routine now revolves around power and strength instead of gaining mass. Heavy weights will increase the intensity of your workouts and it should help you burn more calories while gaining more muscle. Just be sure to keep your protein intake high and you'll be fine.

It is a proven fact that more testosterone is produced/released after an intense, heavy workout. Keep it up, jnellie, and we'll make you a powerlifter in no time! ;)

I'm experimenting with POF. It's a training philosophy created by Steve Holman. I just added more exercises. I hit each muscle group with three different exercises rather than on or two.

Oh yeah, I dropped the reps too. 16-20 is just too much for me.

Actually, the 16-20 reps is supposed to be a warm-up before you do the actual set.

I know but maybe I'm just a wuss or something, but I couldn't hang with that. Even with the light weights it took away too much from my heavier sets. You guys know more about it than I do, I'm just doing what works for me.

Sometimes, I can't hit the high reps. on that first set because of going heavier than normal. Since the first set is really warm up anyway, I try to make up for it by doing more reps. on the later sets as I begin to really pack on the plates. So, that 2nd and 3rd set at 8 and 6 reps., I'll probably do 10 and 8 or something like that.

That's basically what I did. I wanted more reps at the higher weight.
