If you're going to off in that direction, why don't we start a new thread on it, and let this one die...... Please?

I knwo there is mutt. however menace said peopel get bigger as we get older due to the slower metabolism, people know that as they get older but they still consume the same as they did when they are 20, so when it comes down to it, its the descesion of what to put in our mouths. Which now adays is fast food.

everything i said is common knowledge....

1. metabolism slows down as we get older
2. natural testosterone peaks around 30 for most guys and then starts to fall off

Americans on average gain pounds over the years because they metabolism falls off...so they need to consume less calories...but their body doesn't adjust so they continue eating same calories...hence gradual weight/fat increase...

Americans however, have issues of obesity beyond what i mentionaed before...but this is on top of that....

But yea we can drop this thread...it served it purpose...takes forever to load on my dial up LOL

Barbell curls and alternate dbell curls are great. When doing alternate curls, keep the weight horizontal the whole time, ull really feel the shock. Ull grow too. But i really like preacher cable curls. try em, ull really feel the burn.

what an actual bicep related answer? how dare you!

But you can get great mass with any number of exercises:

-Standing Alternating DB Curls/Hammer Curls
you can also do them sitting on straight bench or incline bench
-Sitting Concentration DB curls
you can also do them standing
-Standing EZ-Bar Curls with wide grip
-Sitting Preacher EZ-Bar Curls with narrow grip
-barbell curls with various grips
-Sitting or Standing Cable Curls
-Spider Curls(Chest into incline bench)
-Chin-ups(underhand grip) are also very good

to get mass do reps of under 8 for working sets, tho don't be afraid to switch it up...if you feel like going high reps...do it..to get that burn...etc...just make sure the main focus is on low reps...also don't be afraid of going really low..for a couple reps once in a while...this might not be popular...but as long as you maintain good form...and use proper precussions, you should be fine...

Do 2-3 exercises per workouts, 4-8 reps...

So here's a sample workout:

Standing EZ-bar Curls or Standing Alternative DB Curls
(12*,8,6,4)
Sitting Concentration Curls
(12*,8,4,2)

Each rep means you will do those reps or less....if you can do mroe reps than specified...then you're doing too light of weight
Also don't be afraid to throw in certain exercises just for liek 1 set to get the burn...or to finish off your routine..

hope this helps...gl

In all scientific actuality, testosterone peaks at 18. Many scientific research backs up this claim :-P

Really any bicep exercise but the key is to keep the elbows from moving and then doing negitive curls with a towl and resistance from another body.

Actually test levels peak in the early 20's. We lose approximately 1% test per year somewhere thereafter. Normal test levels are in the range of 270 to 1000 ng./dl of blood.

Utilizing Drop sets is a good method for bicep mass. There are some good articles on drop sets at www.bodybuilding.com

Z mass will not get you muscles.

The weight you should use is simply one that challenges the muscle. If you do not challenge the muscle, it has not reason to adapt and grow stronger/larger.

I totally agree with bb1fit, Smart man, Ok listen it doesn't matter what you take, unless your stupid enough to take steroids, the way we are made is so we are able to heal and grow from hard work. Our muscles become stronger from the weights and they learn to adapt, exactly what bb said, therefore they can withstand those weights in the future, the tiny muscle fibers tear from the weights and grow stronger, when your muscles get tired and fatigued, that is when their is lactic acid build up, but being sore the next day shows that your muscles did work hard and are growing.

Never over do it and form is the key to creating a healthy and strong body!!!

Peace out.

here's the low down (BARBELL curls) wide grip equals innner bicept / clode grip equals outer bicept. SETS keep at a maximum of 9 Try to have three exercises. reps for mass try 6-10 do not train more than every 6 days.

Something I was told recently by a guy I work with and seems to (at least feel) like it will work to get some bicep mass.
Doing Preacher curls use dumbbells, and instead of bringing them up in a hammer style bring them up so your pinkie would make contact with your shoulder, if you were to go all the way. Also, don't go all the way to your shoulder, once you reach peak resistance (about 45 degree angle from a level plane) hold it for a second, then bring your arm back down and repeat.

The way "Capt Green" explained this to me was that once you pass that point in your rep you are no longer doing any work.

Good idea or bad? I have only done it for a week, going to give it a shot for a while and see if I can see a differance.

you have to still lift with your lower body too (or so i've been told) something to do with the growth of your muscles if you stop lifting with your lower body apperently eventually you will hit a brick wall with your growth.

also you shouldn't be looking for mass you should be looking for strength

if you do pullups is there any need to bother with barbell curls to increase the size/strength of your biceps? i find pull ups to be enough already

I used to lift heavy metals until about 6 months back when I switched to doing light weight/more reps. I've realized the light weights are even beginning to seem pretty heavy now and I can't even do the heavy weight no longer. How would you propose I get over this situation as I'm also noticing no change in my body as far as muscle increment or definition. I really need some help on this.
