I "just" joined. I love your attitude. Actually, I don't even consider myself old (58). I'll join in with you and Erin. We'll get this section lively again.

I'm not new to the sport and still love it. I used to say I worked out a lot. Now I just work at it but still hold my own and try my best to defy gravity. :) 52 this year.

At 41 I feel like I am just getting the hang of all of this ...and I started training when I was 25!!! Whoever said "You aren't getting older, you getting Better" was right on!

Robert - I think the consensus is we're all still learning. I've worked out most of my adult life but the thinking has changed so much in the last ten years that it occasionally gets you to thinking about how many years I did it wrong. :)

I think you hit the nail on the head w/that statement. Its not what weve done wrong that matters, its what were gona do next.

Welcome cpaxp. What kind of odds? 100:1 in your favor if you're willing to give it the time and effort. One of the advantages of being older is that you may not necessarily be smarter but you've learned how to be patient. I just turned 53 today and still do a fair job of holding my own in the gym but I've long since learned that what I'm doing is for myself which makes it more productive.

I think there is more energy on this message board than any other!!
I have lifted in the past for a few months at a time but life always changed and I guess willpower wasn't enough for me to be faithfull to weights. Now I started on my 35th bday and been lifting 18 months but actually not as strenuous as I used to. But I feel better and am in better shape and wife says I look better so I hope I stay at it this time!!
