Just want to share, this is the first day of week one of my lean down diet, for the comp. in May. Not to bad today, doing 2 pure protien drinks and one mrp per day plus three real meals. Tuna, Chicken, Salad and Brocolli, egg-whites, and morning oatmeal. They are out of my choc. mrp's, going have to tap into my husband's if they don't get choc. in soon. Wish me luck guys, this is so important to me, gonna pose with my baby in May.

Thanks to all of you for your support, that is a real help knowing there are people like you guys out there. Now it has been three days and I have stuck to the diet and not veered one bit. I did take my three meals and split them in half so that I was eating every two hours instead of three to ward off the hunger pangs. I have been working long hours at work and I am there for 13 hours aday, plus my workout and everyday life. It has made for some long days so splitting my meals has really worked out.

Thanks everyone for your support, I just found out today that the Caveman show has been moved to July and The Show me Naturals is at the end of May. That really gives me more time to gain muscle mass so my hubby and I are going to sit down and revise my diet and start again in about two weeks. I was kind of disappointed that the Caveman show also had been moved. They had been having inside of a Cave at the Meramec Caverns but I guess it was so packed last year that they had to have more space. Well Two more weeks to gain and maintain my muscle mass, I will keep you posted. Asimmer, I got your other post thank you for the info and I have been posing every chance I get. I even do it at the gym in order to prepare myself for being on stage in front of people. Those pics of yours remind me of myself a few years ago, congrats on your accomplishments, You also are a inspiration to all that think it can't be done.

The diet for my comp is tough enough trying to keep up with; I could only imagine how much more difficult something like a bodybuilder's diet is to stay with for an extended period of time!

Ah the diet...... I got a small competition the 12th of April. It's really not a big thing (more like a demonstration) but I guess I need to loose a little fat (at least so I'll feel better myself!) SO diet, here I come again!! (o;

Just another thing to you all. When dieting and preparing for a new competition you'll notice that your body will become and look better every time. It takes time to get perfect cut and defined and we learn from experience.

Good luck to you all!

Well, BB1Fit changed my diet this week, and the carbs are gone except for two carb meals aweek. I feel like I am starving, but it is going to be so worth it. I ordered my posing suit today and I pray that it fits. Panic is the word, paniced so bad that I ordered another one just for good measure. I don't know how small I am going to get yet, so I guess the backup suit is a good ideal. Getting cut at this point and only 5 1/2 weeks out. Cardio is a every day thing now. Workouts are going great, I haven't lost my strenght yet, although I know it is coming. Still haven't picked our music yet, guess I better get on that tommorow. Goodnight everyone and again thanks for all your support.

Oh my dear don't stress that much!! (o;
You still got 5 1/2 weeks left. Don't do cardio everyday but keep on cycling your carbs (carb up days). Make sure of getting enough good fat and eat some Amino Acids to keep the stregth.
Yes you can work on the poses, music etc but don't you worry, you'll be fiiiiine!!

She does aminos, plus she is using the new 7keto product, which I think is much better than fat burners. I can't stop her once she gets started on the cardio!! She is cycling her carbs, doing rather well I must say! She will be awesome for the show. This is her first, and you know how that is!

Good luck, Sandysford! It is so worth it and you sound like you are doing really well!
It will be fine, the music is important, but really, if you have a routine you can do it to anything (especially if they lose your music1 ;)

Oooh I just ran into a rather big problem yesterday about my music to the competition tomorrow....... Well the guy who's in charge of everything contacted me to say that he cannot find a casette player so I cannot use my casette...... well that's all I got (if he had said it before then I would have enough time to change but not any longer)
No need to say that I got a liiittle tense so I finally said to the guy that he better find a player or I wont do his competition......
He's counting on me at the competition (I'm one of the main athletes ;o) so right now he's trying to find a solution.

It shouldn't be that hard to find a player huh?!!!

And oh yes bb1, I remember very well how I was at my first competition........ (o; Sandy is doing fine!!

I'm doing my first competition in Peoria in May and the only thing I see to be struggling with is the diet. I have been a very strict diet with no cheat meals since February. I do carbs 3x a day before 3, then chicken, tuna, veggie burgers (plain), or protein shakes for the rest of the day. I eat every 2-3 hours,and take a multi vitamin with extra calcium and b-complex, but I still seem to be very exhausted and hungry. I need inspiration!! I have 5 wks left and I am not having fun anymore. I need help!

First off you have no fats in your diet from what I am reading in your post. Fats when very low in carbs are what your body will rely on for glucose(for the brain and muscle). In fact, the brain can get up to 75% easily of its glycogen from fats.

If you are very strict on carbs, you say you do carbs 3x per day, this is basically a TKD if it is around your workouts. A TKD should have some good fats in it. You will need to "refeed" periodically. (see below).

Another fact that is really important, you have been strict dieting for a while. Usually around the 6-8 week mark, which you are at, your body will start to "respond" to strict dieting and start metabolism slowdown, (which really doesn't account for all that much, about 5%, but when already low in calories is alot, thyroid output, etc.), and lethargy. It goes against most peoples "common sense" but the leaner you get, you need to "cheat" a bit to keep things on track.

I would suggest taking 2 days and adding a good amount of carbs to your diet, you should "fill out" and restore some glycogen. This can help to reset metabolism and kickstart your diet when you go back to it.
