I think that juice and sugary drinks allow the creatine to move into the body quicker than just plain water.
I don't drink just straight water....iced tea, crystal light...etc that I use water to make I count towards my daily intake. I've learned to enjoy plain tap water much more though so I've moved away from those drinks, but they definitely count towards that 120 goal of yours. |

On the topic of water, is there such a thing as too much water?? My weight seems to fluctuate day by day and i am sure it's due to water intake.
I am closing in on 2 gallons a day. Not due to effort, I am just grown accustomed to drinking lots of water. |

YES!!!!!!
I've told this before...but I'll tell it again...there was a kid on parris island...a marine recruit...it's hotter than hell in South Carolina in the summer...this kid drank and drank water...he collapsed on the feild...they got him to the hospital ...he had NO electrolytes in his system...he died...he was 18 years old...to much of ANYTHING is not good for you.... -------------- \\"you cant fence that in.....its like holdin back the wind\\" |

You should drink "at least 1 gallon of water" a day, that's what your body Needs!
Especially if you use creatine :) |

a woman just died here this week..there was some water drinking competition for a Wii....its called water intoxication...
physiology of water intoxication pasted from Wikipedia: Body fluids contain electrolytes (particularly sodium compounds, such as sodium chloride) in concentrations that must be held within very narrow limits. Water enters the body orally or intravenously and leaves the body primarily in the urine, sweat and by exhaled water vapour. If water enters the body more quickly than it can be removed, body fluids are diluted and a potentially dangerous shift in electrolyte balance occurs. Most water intoxication is caused by hyponatremia, an overdilution of sodium in the blood plasma, which in turn causes an osmotic shift of water from extracellular fluid (outside of cells) to intracellular fluid (within cells). The cells swell as a result of changes in osmotic pressure and may cease to function. When this occurs in the cells of the central nervous system and brain, water intoxication is the result. Additionally, many other cells in the body may undergo cytolysis, wherein cell membranes that are unable to stand abnormal osmotic pressures rupture, killing the cells. Initial symptoms typically include light-headedness, sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting, headache and/or malaise. Plasma sodium levels below 100 mmol/L (2.3g/L) frequently result in cerebral edema, seizures, coma, and death within a few hours of drinking the excess water. As with alcohol poisoning, the progression from mild to severe symptoms may occur rapidly as the water continues to enter the body from the intestines or intravenously |

hmmm..maybe my story is the same as pimples and it wasnt local here...lol but either way its definitely a true story...
conan...its hard to say if drinking 2 gals a day is *bad* for you...if its worked and your not having any *symptoms* then why not...water is extremely good for us..however everything in moderation right?.... maybe cut back to 1 gal? is only a suggestion...i used to get so upset cause i can never get my 8-8oz glasses in a day..its just fills me up so much and makes me feel all bloated...so now i keep it with me all the time and keep myself hydrated but i dont go crazy about how much i drink..remember there is water in our coffee tea and other products.. i am by far no expert..but i dont sweat the water lol |

Conan - I, like you, drink a ton of water everyday and have never had a problem. In fact, I feel like crap if I dont drink a lot. I think I am just used to it. I quit drinking pop/soda about 8 years ago, and I am sure I worked myself up to drinking the quantity I do now. I would think that if our bodies are used to it, and there have been no side effects thus far we are probably fine....but who knows, I am definitely not an expert...just like the stuff! :)

Like I said, I don't "make" myself drink tha much water, I am just typically thirsty. What other suggestions would anyone have for water? I did buy some instant lemon tea. It shouldn't be a calorie issue with the new system I am starting tomorrow.

Balance out your water intake with electrolytes. Wahsing out of electrolytes is what happens mainly with too much water.
I always wondered about these guys carrying around a gallon jug of water with them at all times. How silly. -------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |
