Well, I would think doubling up the calories wouldn't be a good idea in one day... take it slow... add a more at a time...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Don't sound too far off too me tim, I might suggest bumping it up 200-300 a day until she hits her maintenance level, which she still doesn't know. Take time and read "DIET THREAD" in the specific diet and and nutrition forum, also take a look at "grocery list for healthy eating". that forum has loads of info you could use. Put it to work for you gf! Mojo out!

Your stomach gets physically smaller from the low calorie intake. This is a natural reaction.

Wrestler is right. I always suggest these folks try some "liquid" nourishment to get calories up while getting used to taking in more. Usually easier for most to do. I don't normally recommend MRP's, but in these cases I make an exception.

ditto...

you may need to eat more often in smaller quantities(eating the way you did, is similar to what happens after stomach stapling, your stomach is physically smaller and has less space for food)....for example 1600....would be 200 calories 8 times daily.....some of which should be liquid....protein shake in the morning, MRP during the day might be a good idea....soup for lunch is also a good idea......

you may also need to take in smaller than recommended amount of fiber....so that you don't get satiated too quickly...
