I was just curious to see how some of you meet your daily requirements, and what foods/supplements seem to help the most? I'm a full-time college student and also work about 15 hours a week, and sometimes I don't have time to prepare the meals I want. Any suggestions?

my requirements are about 2200 cal/day. I use alot of chicken and veggies to get there. Two suggestions - cook several meals on one day and put them in frig or freezer. Second - not saying that you are not busy but as a coll student working 15hrs/week, you should have time to prepare some meals.
Too meet my requirements, I do not use any supplements although I do use supps for a PWO shake.
Good Luck

On Sunday I prepare a whole weeks worth of lunches and a few dinners, seal them up and throw them in the freezer its great and easy to grab in the morning and head to work. Just something you might want to try.

'Requirements' as you put it in diet does not have to be a daily grind. That is, if you simply average weekly for instance your requirements for daily consumption, you will be fine. That is a scenario like overeat a bit one day, undereat a bit the next, etc. If your average comes out for the week to your requirements, then you are fine. If you however go over or under for any period of time, well you can guess the consequences, but unless this is continuous, you will rebound with picking things back up on the right track. This is where knowing portion size comes into play, and why it is so wise to actually count everything for a while till you get to recognize portion size thus you can control it without really 'counting'.

i still have to count :( i dont trust myself...not sure when i will..any suggestions on how to wean off of counting...i know you just said portion size..and im *ok* with that part...like judging 1/2 c. of something..but how do you know that what your eating adds up to what you need for that meal/day?...or will i just have to count forever?..or is this once im in maintenance phase?

The nurtional tracker on this site helps amazingly so as well. Inputting what you ate on a daily basis also allows you to track your weekly progress.
I find it easy to input my nutrition a few times a day so I remember all that I eat.

I calculated my maintenance calorie level, and having a good estimate of how many calories I'm consuming does help a lot. I have a better understanding of how many calories are in each food.

Start taking fish oil pills if you haven't yet; that'll help a lot with your fat intake.
