As most of you probably know, ravenwolf and i got a new workout center and it is awesome, btw. But!! I have a problem, i have the tricep cable pushdown exercises coming up and unfortunately until we find a solution, i am unable to perform those. i need to know if there is another similar exercise to that one that will work out the same area of the triceps(mass and outer areas)? i would like to be able to have the closest replacement to this one i can until we can get the cable system to perform adequately. thanks!

One of the best exercises I know for the triceps are the old-fashioned skullcrushers (lying tricep extensions). You can also use the lat attachment as a cable pushdown exercise if you must stick with a cable-type exercise.

Skullcrushers on a decline bench work your triceps a little differently, also.

Overhead extensions are my favorites. You get a nice long range of motion and the angle of the exercise and point of peak contraction is similar to pushdowns. It's easiest to do one arm at a time.
