hey all. i have NOW maltodextrin and dextrose, creatine monohydrate, and some whey with like 19g per scoop. If i plan on building muscle and minimizing fat gain... what would be the ratio i want. i weigh 183 and i am 6'2 and i would like to weigh something along the lines of 190 or so with just muscle gains (very unlikely) but anyways what is the proper ratio? thanks a lot...

i would aim for 1/4 of your bodyweight in grams of protein, and 1/4 divided equally b/t malto and dex. that sets you at about 46 gr protein, and 23 gr dex and 26 gr malto.

Most of the research out there indicates that a 2:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio, if thats what your asking. However, this depends on your needs. A bodybuilder would usea much lower ratio, and similarly, an athlete would use closer to a 3:1 ratio. It depends on your goals.

The best way is to learn to "guage" your pwo requirements by your workout. For example, on a hard leg day you should probably need more than for example an all arm day. The object is to get your bodyily functions back to normalized as quickly as possible, so protein synthesis can begin. (blood sugars, nervous system, etc.)

ok... well a couple things. first, does that mean since the scoops of dextrose are 4g each with 1.25teaspoon... i have to do like 8 teaspoons? and 26 grams of malto as in 1 scoop ~23g of protein scoop? that seems like a lot but the shake sure did taste good thanks to more chocolate whey. ok, well im not really sure what i want. i want to grow big but i think i would rather be considered powerlifter. so what do i do for that? well thanks for your help guys?

oh yea... and for today... instead of doin my leg day i played flag football with my team and i dont really have time today to do legs. so do i take pwo shake after this (one that is like 1/2 of everything)? or what? or should i try to find another day to throw legs in? on a side note... when doin box squats... whats an optimum level for the top of the box to be? right behind knee?
-thanks again everyone
