You guys said that we should have about 1-2 grams of protein per lbls per day. Correct? If so, I have only seen supplements that give 52 grms per serving, and it says to only take 2-3 serverings per day. How am I suppost get that much protien daily.

Remember: you get protein from the food you eat, too. Eggs, chicken, lean meat, milk, nuts, etc. all have valuable protein. There are websites like http://www.cyberdiet.com/ni/htdocs/ and others that can give you the nutritional content of the foods you eat. I only consume 2 protein (EAS Myoplex) shakes per day because I intake a large majority of the protein from my diet.

If you look at the nutrition section, there's a program to give you your protein, carb, fat goals per day based on your goals. Take the total amount per day, this will be on your report also, and based on your meals/day find protein/meal. Supplements can be taken with meals, between meals, but the only goal is total per day.

Sheltymac welcome here. It's normal that you have had those gains so fast without the necessairy food. Why? Because you are a beginner and beginners get very fast first results.
Very soon you'll reach a plateau where you'll stop having more progress. You can avoid this by eating correctly and often change your work out.

When you started 8 months ago, you didn't need that much protein since you didn't have all those muscles as now. Today you need a lot more.

Go to the FT nutrition and try to put in your profile. You'll see how much proteins you need.

Luck to you.

This is how i look at it...

1-Since we all know your body can only intake 25-30 at a time ( why eat 50 on one serving?)
2-People suggest to try to eat a *bit* more then 30 grams at each meal so ur body has access more easily to its 30 grams max..Personally i eat 30 and its working fine for me.
3-People say to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours max (besides after 3 hours ur prolly starving)

So based on all this , I would try to get my meals around 30 to 40 grams of protein per meal and try to eat about 5-7 meals a day ( i eat 7 times a day)

Now try to get most of your protein carbs from food , and think of supplements to just fill in the *holes* ...

Good luck

One gets used to eat so many times a day...... People are making fun of me saying that I always eat, but I guess they are right, but if (as you say bombx) I wait for more than three hours, then I'm staaaaarving!! lol
I guess your stomach gets use to it as well.

As a key rule to you Zealotes, make sure of ALWAYS having a protein source in every meal. I don't always count proteins, but I always make sure of getting at least some.

It's really up too your personal beliefs, but I think that you really only need 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight at the most. A lot of studies say that .618 grams of protein per lb of body wieght is the most your body can digest, but you just might have to see what works for you. As or getting in that amount of protein, be sure to eat 4-6 meals per day or more if you can fit them in and I wouldn't eat more than 35-40 grams of protein at each meal. Best of luck -Sweeny

EAT! thats it in a nutshell. if you do 6 meals a day, at least 4 of them must be whole food: beef, milk, eggs, chicken, fish. since it can become physically difficult to eat enough, thats where supplements can be handy. but dont rely on them.

if you're into weight training, ignore whatever the FDA recommends as your daily required protein. these amounts were developed by couch potatos for couch potatos. there's only one thing that makes tissue and thats the second most abundant material in the body - protein. there is NO way that the FDA's RDA of protein can be a sufficient amount for maintaining life in addition to building a better body.

good luck..............michael

And vitamines, and calories........ Imagine me being a couch potato and eating my 2500 calories daily lol then I'll definitely look like a potato!!!

Forget the normal dieticiens since they don't know enough about the needs of a bodybuilder.
