there's a nice hill i live on which from what i can see is absolutely great for a intense run , but im told if you only have a moderate amount of body fat , there's a chance that when you have runs in the morning (before you eat) you body will eat away at muscle mass as well as fat. Would taking a whey protein shake directly after the run protect your muscles?

i don't really have time for cardio as i've got school and i greatly prefer weight lifting.

do complexes for conditioning benefit ....something like with 20-30% of 1rm of the weakest lift done 5x5 with 30-90 sec rest between sets....(you're doing 5 reps of each exercise nonstop then resting 30-90 sec then doing another set...if it's too easy bump weight used or decrease rest between sets)

take fish oil....5-10g daily....split in half morning and night

Have some fuel pre cardio.

You could also have half a scoop of whey protein and a couple of BCAA capsules - thsi will help prevent muscle breakdown, but not prevent fat loss. I find that if I eat anything pre-cardio I get a little 'urpy' and don't perform as well (yes, urpy is a technical term:)), the whey and the BCAAs don't fill me up or 'whey' me down (i am just full of the dickens today, aren't I?).

I wish everyone would get a partial amnesia and never use 'tone' ever again. (thanks Menance)

Branch Chain Amino Acids - the building blocks for muscle - they 'trick' your body into preserving mass.

Kickboxing will be endurance. strength training will help with power - i would focus on the kickboxing and ask your kickboxing instructor what type of lifting to supplement with.
