Hi all,
I am very new to this site- but wow, what inspiration. I just started making lifestyle changes- body, mind, and spirit. I am 6'tall, and I currently weigh 245. I would like to be down to 225 by May 2005. I am working out at a gym daily, and really watching what I eat. Good luck everyone! Briony |

brionyblb, it is good to have you! A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week since one pound equals 3500 calories, that is actually a practical loss. Good luck with your goals, just do it the healthy way and you will keep them off by continuing!
Marblez, it is good to have you, too, and it is wonderful that you would like to share your accomplishments with others! Part of weight loss and a healthy lifestyle is maintaining and it is so good that you chose to keep that in mind, also, by being a part of a support group like FT! Jamiehannon, your weight loss goal is very practical and it is very possible! Eat good foods, don't skip meals, and exercise and you should find your goal attained! Welcome to FT! I'm down to 153 now. It's going slow, but I know it's because of my eating patterns. I've been fairly consistent with my workouts; now I just need to get my eating right and I know I will lose more weight.

HI! I am new here. Just getting aquainted. I am 50 (though people think I am younger.) But definitely have the "after 40" weight gain that proves it. I am a small person. But have put on 35 lbs in the last 8 years. VERY FRUSTRATING! I refuse to buy new clothes. I want to lose at least 15 lbs. And I want to lose it soon! Any advise? It is so much harder than it was when I was younger!

Well, im 16. I weigh 220..I think. My goal is to weigh 180 by summer. June/July. Thats 3-4 months. Do you think its possible? My long term goal is to weigh 140-150. I hope i can do it.

:) Hi! I am a 204 as of today I lost 6 pounds in three weeks, by just cutting down my portions and walking. I have been pregnant three times in four years (a total of 27 months out of 48) and got used to eating for two. So after I decided that it was time to start losing the "baby fat" I choose to start learning how to eat for my self, again.

eh... I'm 16yr, 220lbs, and eventually want to weigh 140. But for short term 170. I think 140 is a healthy weight for me cause I've always had muscle. my 220 isn't all fat, but mostly. Ahh a long way to go. I hope it doesn't take to long though.:surprised:

Well I am currently 22 years old, 5'7" and weigh 218 pounds. The funny thing is I am in the military. Yeah I know most of you would think that that alone would keep you thin but no. It takes more comittment than what the Navy makes me commit to. But I did weigh 252 at my heaviest a little over a year ago. My goal in the long run is to weight 160.:)

I am 30 years old and weigh 170 pounds. I would like to weigh between 125 and 130. I have been trying to lose weight for two years and have instead gained 10 lbs.
I had my third child two years ago at age 28 and prior to that have never weighed more than 130 until I gained almost 80 punds during my pregnancy. WOW! I am determined though and I know I can do it! |

22, 23 next month, 5'10", 193.5 lbs.
No goal weight, but see below. Want to build muscle mass and get down to around 15 percent body fat for training in kickboxing and BJJ- I want to compete in those someday. Wouldn't care about actual weight as much as power, body fat, and size. |

I am 120 and I am pretty scronie I would like to gain more muscel but fat as well cuz i am really jus skin bones and some leg muscel and not much fat and I cant really gain fat without eating at Mcdonalds everday and i dont havr that kind of money to do it everyday. I want to to weigh about 150 with muscel and fat by then end of the summer.

I am 5'3 and weigh 170 lbs. Within the past year I have gained 30 lbs. My goal weight is 120 lbs. This seems almost impossible, due to the fact that no matter how much I watch what I eat and workout, I always end up gaining weight. I'm determined this time though, wish me luck!

I'm now at 151 pounds...so it's still coming off slowly. I guess I don't have to worry that I'm not eating enough because I haven't been keeping track of calories or anything, but if I'm only losing a pound a week or so then I must be eating about right. Now I am about where I was last August before I met my loving italian fiance who loves to eat... Getting in the 140''s makes me so so happy and I guess I'll be there in a few more weeks YAY :) :) :) I'm still not exercising, but I'm telling myself that I'll do it to get out of my plateau that I usually hit when I get in the mid 140's. Lol, I know it's not good, but I'm taking off next week to go on a little vacation and then I'll start my work out regime! |

My opinion (what I've found to help me personally) is that if you're obsessing, which is in a bad way if you're feeling guilty about healthy foods - then find another way to obsess in a good way. Track everything, including cals, protein, carbs, and fats and the % of your diet and make goals appropriately. It's helped me! :laugh: Well this is embarassing. Im 180lbs and Im 5'2'' but when i ask people how much i weigh I always get 145lb. I am solid except for my upper stomach ( I have huge breast) and my love handles. I am happy with everything else on my body so what exercises could i do to lose my stomach and back rolls and love handles by august

Well Im trying for a new way to lose weight. I tried this video by Denise Austine, but it seemed like I wasn't doing it right so I"m wondering if anyone knows of any good workout videos for a newbie. I am currently 150 at 5/2. It's been getting more and more over the last year.

:) im 15yrs old and i weight 201. i started my diet 19 days ago (may 25) and lost a total of 14 pounds. i still have about 40 more pounds to go so i can reach goal of 160.i jus wanna kno if it is possible to lose 40 pounds in about 2-2 an 1/2 months? at the rate that im going it seems very much possible....but if any one has any hints or weight loss secrets then please send them 2 me. :big_smile:
