5'9 & 158 lbs. I know I should be OK with my weight but I still have a bit of mid and lower belly fat I would like to shed. Also, my hip section will not go away...which is probably caused by my limited range of motion. No pic yet but will post once I find my camera.

5'7" - 170 lbs. My goal is 130, but I also have a couple of finess goals for 2009: I want to run a half marathon in less than two hours and I want to be able to do 10 unassisted chin ups.

I am 6 foot 4 and 165ish pounds...my goal is to get to 180 pounds...i eat and i eat and i eat..but i also have a daily workout plan that i guess burns up all of the calories that i take in

I'm 5'8" and 114 lbs and I can barely lift a pencil (just recovering from a long-term illness). I'd like to be back at 125 of nice lean muscle like I used to be...130 is acceptable considering strength and fitness level.

i used to weigh 155 but when i moved in with my boyfriend i started gaining weight and now i weigh 191 so im tryin to lose the weight again...my goal is 150-145 so i got alot of work to do.

Im currently 5'9" and weigh 241 (started at 250lbs when I first joint the sight 7 weeks ago), My first goal is to be 200lbs by the end of May. Then By the end of summer/fall be around 180lb.

Dude i was a good 271 in jan. of 07. it is now 08 and im at a healthy 142lbs. im about 5"11' and im only 17.... i run two miles everyday, work out for an hr. a day. in 07 i couldnt even make it to the end of my drive way.... i know that if i can do in everyone else can too. It will just take time. dont think you will do this in a week.... do it healthy and do it right. i lerned the hard way and you dont have to. lots of love frome Tracee:love::love:

My current weight at 38 yrs. of age is 275lbs. at 6'5" tall. My goal is to lose about 15 pounds and turn that into toned muscles. Currently doing the 'at home' program using free weights and exercise bands. I'm doing this not only for me, but also for my 2yo. son. Wish me luck!!!

I am currently 190....the most I have ever weighed :(
At 5'7 for my body type my goal is 140 lbs. I used to work out twice a day 5-6 days a week. I have been out of the gym for so long, I'm afraid I don't know where to begin any more.

At 325 I don't have a wieght loss in mind, just to get healthy! My fat jeans don't fit anymore, can't afford to buy new clothes....

I will be turning 44 in May and I just got a lecture, from my Dr that my blood pressure and colesterol are really out there and the fact that I weigh 290 at 5'3" is not helping me at all. I had an accident where I lost a finger but it just didn't make enough of a difference, I'm still way too big for my height. I need and want to share one of the most important thing on my journey, SUPPORT.

:) Hello everyone. I'm 19 62inches tall and weigh 248 lbs.

I have a Gathering to go to in January '09 and wish to be near my "ideal" weight by then.

("ideal" being somewhere between 117-135lbs)
However, me being the realistic kind of person I am, I'm shooting for 150.

That's like 100lbs to lose in 10 months. I know I can do it, but I'm worried about hitting a long stretch of plateaus.
I've been working on my diet for 2 months now, and have lost about 15lbs. However, due to water retention from PMS, I have gained almost 10lbs in the past week. So "actual" weight would be about 240lbs.

Question for everyone, how do you get rid of water retention during the period? is this something you have to deal with?
(just as a note, I drink like 2 liters of water a day)

I'm 136.7 pounds and my goal is to lose around 10-12. The last bit is the worst, and what do you do with the cellulite?? it seems that it doesn't go away :angry:

Started working out again in January of 09 at about 220#, 5'10". Currently I am about 206, still 5'10" ;).
Like mentioned above (back in 2004 of this thread) muscle weighs more than fat and at first I gained a few pounds. That was cool though because I figured as the muscle builds, my metabolism does too so sooner or later I would hit some "critical mass" and the fat would just start to melt away.

Forgot to put my goals in...I would like to get back into my 32 inch waist pants and weigh 200#. That will require building a bunch more muscle because I am still carrying a lot of fat around my midsection and wearing 36 inch stretchy waist khaki's and 36 inch loose fit jeans...

Currently I am 6'2" 273 I would like to increse my muscle stregth but shed down to about 240. It is fustrating, as eluded to by JimD200 that you start to gain weight early on because of the increased muscle mass. Just looking for that magic time when I start dropping weight and at the same time continue getting stronger.

You don't necessarily always gain weight first then start to lose, it depends on how you work out. The key to losing weight is having a calorie deficit in your diet that is appropriate. If you do it right, and do a good appropriate workout you can start losing weight from day one. Start with a toning workout and switch to a strengthening workout once you have shed a few pounds.
