I thought we could all post our weight here and our weight goal, maybe by sharing and by actually posting it we can be accountable to it just a bit more. So, I will start - anyone else brave enough, just jump on in!!
Vedakathryn Weight: 224, Goal: 160 (I will most likely want to lose to 135 but this is my first goal, it is easier to imagine than nearly 100 pounds!!) TOTAL to lose: 64 pounds -------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. I'm 160 right now. My goal weight is to gain 10 pounds of muscle and the least amount of fat possible, then I'd like to lose about 10 pounds of fat because right now I still have a little bit of it. This topic isn't just about losing weight is it? If so, sorry:surprised:

Folks, weight loss is ok but remember that muscle is much heavier than fat. When I came to FT I had a 40 inch waist. After the first 8 months I had my waist down to 34. I actually gained 10 pounds in the process. Clean up your diet, lift heavy, do the dreaded cardio, keep up with the calories and use a tape measure to check your "real"progress. You will be amazed at how you'll look.-------------- Sometimes I lie awake at night and wonder where have I gone wrong? Then I hear a voice say this is gonna take longer than one night. Charlie | |

I am around 5'8 and about 165. I'd like to lose about 25lbs bringing me to 140. However, if I can get a body fat percentage of 19 or 20 then I'll stop at that.

UGH!
Weight: 12/26/04 247lbs 53%BF 1st Goal: By March 230lbs 50%BF 2nd Goal: By June 210 lbs 45% BF Anything after that is dependant on if I reach these goals on time, ahead of schedule, or later than planned. Did see a huge improvement though in BF% According to the scale I have been using, when I got serious about 1 1/2 months ago, I was at 60%, and yesterday I was at 53%. That is a deffiate motivator for me!! |

Charlie is right, as per usual, so how about anyone that gets the chance, go to www.mybodycomp.com and fill in a profile. I just feel that actually writing down our weight is the first step, at least for me, because muscle or fat, I have a tendancy to "fool" myself into believing "I haven't gained an ounce" as my pants size increases, lol!
So, let's take an additional step and break out those tape measures and see what we come up with! I like mybodycomp as it allows you to use it as a "tool" and create additional profiles as you lose, so you can keep it and see your progress! I print mine out each time and keep it and it helps me see that even though the scale may say one thing, my body is saying another! It gives an approximate bodyfat% but I would, again, only use this as a "tool" giving you an idea as you progress. So, if you really want a good idea, go there and then come on back here and post your comments as to what you think about the numbers, and remember - they are just numbers, and this is just a "tool" like the scale, like a tape measure, like everything, we need to focus individually on our bodies and not get discouraged by all the numbers, as Charlie said. Hey, when you feel good, you will feel good and that will be the bottom line! :) -------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. Weighed myself yesterday and was 285. I sort of went by the wayside during November and December but now I am back on the straight and narrow. My goal is to drop two pant sizes by the time my son gets home from Iraq in July. That would put me in a 42 and then I could buy clothes at Wal-Mart.

Well....I would like to weigh about 135 to 140 lbs....but maybe a better goal would be to wear a size 8 or 10....10 is more realistic... so i would have to lose about 60lbs or 3 to 4 sizes...you can do the math, HA!. Either way...a long way to go.
