Well I just want to start by saying Thanks Freetrainers.com and all of the wonderful people on here.

I just had my annual physical with my Dr and he was thoroughly impressed. He called me "The poster child for how to get in shape"...yes I gave freetrainers.com props for most of what I know today.

For the last 4 or 5 years my cholesterol has been progressively getting worse and worse. March of 05 it was at an all time high and here were my stats then:

Cholesterol - 324
Triglycerides(Bad Cholesterol) - 422
LDL(Bad Cholesterol) - 146 (this was actually 3/03 cause it wasn't documented in 3/05)
HDL(Good Cholesterol) - 33

Here they are as of today:
Cholesterol - 185
Triglycerides(Bad Cholesterol) - 129
LDL(Bad Cholesterol) - 113
HDL(Good Cholesterol) - 46

Before I got back into the gym I was also taking Advair for occassional nighttime Asthma as well as Allegra and various other things and they removed all of those from my file as maintenance meds, since I haven't needed any of them since about April of 05 (1 month after I changed my lifestyle).

He also checked my pulse, BP and my chest (for weezing) and said that I am in perfect health for a 32 year old and to keep up what I'm doing.

Once again...Thanks Freetrainers and all the great people here.

Let me add that these changes were done strictly by diet and exercise, there were no prescribed medication to get these under control. I did take an Omega Complex supplement on top of my daily multi-vitamins.

Between all these factors I'll live long enough to see my kids graduate HS, go to college, and raise families of their own. Barring getting hit by a bus (knocks on wood).

Congratulations to you sstump! It is as I have preached, my wife is a prime example also. Good diet, healthy lifestyle can eliminate many of the so called "natural" diseases.

I cannot say enough congratulations. You should shout this from the rooftops!

Not quite sure how I can be an inspiration to you all, since you have been my inspiration for the last year, and many years to come.

And thanks for the props everyone! 2005 was really a great year for me and these numbers were always one of my goals the entire time, so it would have been very disheartening for me had nothing changed. I found I was very anxious and concerned about the results days prior to the appt. So you don't know what a load it was off of my chest when I got them.

I found myself talking to my 8 year old this weekend about Cholesterol and explaining to him what Cholesterol is and why I had to get it down. That was a great feeling as well, before I would have just shunned it off or ignored the question...knowing that the ultimate question from him would have been "What is yours?"

To all the new people and anyone that searches through these threads trying to find a cure for your cholesterol and many other ailments. The last place you should look are prescriptions and Dr's to tell you what is best for you. Odds are you knew it all along. It's not the fad diet you ditched cause it wasn't working, it's not the fancy excercise machine sitting in the corner of your room. It's a state of mind and a commitment at changing your future, without that first change then you sabotage yourself for failure to reach your goals.

Thanks again all!
