As of yesterday (8/12), I have lost just over 80 pounds! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am! When I started eating right and working out on January 31st of this year, I was at 330! Now, I'm in the 240s! I'm 5'10" and know I still need to lose more, but I feel like I'm really going to do it this time! In fact, I KNOW I'M GOING TO DO IT! I'm going to get down to a reasonable weight and NEVER, EVER return to the "old me."

I was so excited the other day when I went shopping for jeans. (By the way, because of my size, I used to not wear jeans nor shop at "regular" shops -- now I do both!) So, as I was shopping for jeans, I picked up a size 40 and tried them on. They were WAY TOO BIG! Then, I grabbed a 38. Once again, they were HUGE! So, I took a size 36 and tried them on -- and they fit! I don't remember the last time I wore a size 36, but I think it was high school!

Another way my life is changing is with women! Before, I had no confidence around women. Now, I'm kinda seeing a gorgeous Brazilian girl! Seriously, this is the kind of girl who certainly would've caught my attention before, but I would've thought she was WAY out of my league. Now, we're going out and having fun! It's really weird for me to walk into a social setting with her and have other guys turn around and glance at her because, in many cases, she is the most attractive woman in the room. I tell you that has never happened to me. Plus, get this -- she was the one who first approached me about going out! She was the one who first kissed me. This is a drastic change for me, but I'm not complaining!

And, I'm not sure, but I think that from time to time, I see women checking me out at the grocery store or at the gym. Once again, this is totally NEW for me. Maybe they're just looking at the mayo on the other side of my head, but I like to think they're looking at me. :)

Oh yea, I'm also noticing a few veins showing in my arms. Pretty cool, indeed.

I just want to say thanks for all your tips here. You guys are the best!

Dave - I've been around this board for several years and that's one of the write-ups I'll have to save. It's nice to see someone that's hit what they wanted and realize they got there.

Wow, man that was a great post. Awesome to hear that everything is working out great. I too made a new year's resolution but didn't really do anything until mid feburary. Where i peaked at 310 and thanks to FT i'm down to 255-260(funky scale and water weight lol). I admit that the last month was hard because of moving and all but still on track at 10 pounds a month. I recommend this site to all my friends and family.

I really hope i can stay on track, but i have a heavy school load this year. Off to a good start because i live like 30 blocks from school and i think i'll walk home everyday. Also caught a few smiles from the ladies. I'm so excited.

Agian great post. *cheers* Heres to reaching our goals.

 great progress Dave, I was just wondering what a typical day or week you go through to achieve this? (eating) I know you must have made a lifestyle change of what you used to eat. A another quick questions is how did you overcome or deal with the changes?.........TY on any info, trying to convince someone I  to get on track and lose weight, who is 5'10 294lbs 50yrs.............TY again
