I weight 150 and I am 5'4 and I have fat around the middle. I am currently working on my abs every other day for thirty minutes. I am also watching what I ate and do a little of riding my bike on the days that I'm not doing my ab workout. My question is am I doing enough to see any results in 8 - 10weeks or should I be doing more ? Please help.

LMAO. You do abs 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Oh god.

At least wrestler didnt suggest increasing ab workouts to an hour and doing them every day...:)
Just_D....you like to ride your bike? that's cool...a little? that's ok too....just do it with HIIT(high intensity interval training)....for 20-30 min....3-4 days a week...sprint for 30-45 sec....ride moderate pace for 2-3 min....repeat.....for the 20-30 min time...as you get better...decrease the slower pace...or increase the sprint pace....do so on days off from lifting or after Training abs often has very little effect....instead do whole body training using big freeweight exercises...3 sets of 8 reps is good with 60-90 sec rest in between sets.... Try this: Mon: Deep Squats Chin Ups Dips Sit Ups/Crunches(hold extra weight if you can do more than 8 reps) Thu: Deadlifts Military Presses Bent Over Rows Russian Twists As always I suggest Fish Oil supplement...6g daily....3g morn and 3g at night... good luck

Is one better than the other? New members need to be welcomed. Not made to feel like their stupid for asking a quesion. Most new members aren't as well versed in, or educated in the things their asking about, as the people their asking. Were supposed to be here to help others. Not belittle them, or make them feel inferior. Thats all.:)-------------- She sits and wonders why.....no more. |

Generally I'd agree with you Mojo. However when some topics are discused ad nauseum and then new members keep asking same questions over and over....it gets a bit irritating....
There's a search button at the bottom and it's highly recommendded for new members to use it...if something cant be found or is unclear , then people are always glad to explain....however many people are just lazy to do that...so they get the wrath of the all mighty sarcasm....this should be like a sticky in every forum.... so that every new person who wants to ask questions like these....can search for them and read like 100 posts of this...or whatever else there questions happens to be... how do i get a 6pack how do i get 20 inch arms how do i get my 'pecks' bigger how do i increase my bench and so on...

Mojo I agree with you.. What's wrong with helping people that ask questions.. Sure you can use the search button and find many of your answers but to some getting YOUR direct question answered makes them feel sure about the answer they are looking for. If it irritates you then just ignore the thread and move on. The way I see it no one should be afraid to ask a question. I have people in the gym interupt me while working out just to ask me simple routine questions. I would rather them interupt me so I can help, than for them to do the something wrong. Yeah it may irritate me also but they come to us for a reason. Im not bashing anyone just stating my opinion. This post isnt intended to start some arguing back and forth either. I just hope to see more people helping others here than laughing at them.

Trust me he was not laughing at him. He was making a point. You have not been on here long enough to know wrestler well enough. He goes WAY out of his way to help all new and long time members. Anyway I nominate J-Mar as Freetrainers offical person to answer each and every post on, how to get 6-pacs, abs, how to make my chest bigger But I do not want to be doing legs. Well you get the Idea. Congrats J-Mar good luck!:)-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! The Men and Boys are Separated by one thing: The Squat Cage! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Mutt you are a Moderator? Don't you think there are different ways to make a point... If I knew every answer to every question I would answer them for those needing advice. This is a discussion board right? Thats what you do. If the majority of the people here don't like answering those in needs questions then this isn't the place for me or them either. I thought it may be different. Plenty of other boards out there. How hard is it for those of you that are bothered by posts like Just_D's questions, to just ignore them instead of posting something stupid and making them feel outta place. Congrats Mutt on losing a member. Feel free to delete my account.

Jmar Mutt wasnt implying that you know everything...he was saying that since you enjoy helping people....who often ask same question million times...then you can answer those ever repeating questions....about how to get 6pack and such....
most people dont even bother to search for an answer...even when a question been asked in different ways for hundreds of times..... We're not trying to belittle anyone...some members on this site also have a sense of humor and we apply it from time to time.....:).......

menace its ok bro.. I sent mutt a message about it.. I knew he was just joking.. Trust me I have a sense of humor.. lol I just needed to make my point.
Even though you feel the same way as wrestler you still tried the help the guy.. Thats better than making him feel he has a stupid question. IMO the members are what make these boards. Wrestler I have read up on some of your past posts.. Your a smart guy. Share it and help others out.. I know you have helped before but whats wrong with helping again or just ignoring the thread if you dont like it. If anyone has anything they would like to say to me then I ask please keep it off this guy's thread and send it to my inbox. I think we have hijacked it long enough.. LOL |

Such posts are referred as 'noise' on other forums...in other words you can ignore them....but you waste a lot of time reading through posts like this....we're glad to help but with limited time...it's good to help those with not ever repeating questions but with follow up questions after they read the basic posts(After searching for them).....
for example had she searched for such posts...she would have gotten posts that told her that doing million crunches is useless and a well balanced diet/weight training are necessary.....then she could have asked a question about the best lifting program for her needs...given her conditions....whatever they may be....I hope I am making this clear....
