Hubby said your arms are HUGE!!!UGH

mysticgraces Posts: 422 Joined: 2006/02/21	2006/06/01, 02:30 PM The other day when I was lifting,I asked hubby to come and count for me as I did the last few "to failure" reps...when I was doing the military press he said to me "Your arms are HUGE!" I asked him what he meant...huge as in fat? or as in muscle..and he said muscle...he isnt the only one that has commented on that... So its been said that women cant bulk right? so then why are my arms larger,as well as my shoulders? When I was weight training in my 20's I NEVER got the slim down arms,they always got large...so did my legs....... A trainer told me once that stocky females tend to develop larger muscles,because their muscles are shorter and not long and lean as in taller women So whats your take....

tp130 Posts: 17 Joined: 2005/10/27	2006/06/01, 03:58 PM I'm right there with you. To make things worse, my arms have gotten skinny (and veiny) with the exception of my Popeye muscles - looks odd. What to do?

flyonthewall Posts: 1,823 Joined: 2005/01/18	2006/06/02, 01:14 PM I had the same comment from my hubby when he saw me lifting wts. When my arms aren't "pumped" they look fine and nice and tight. I'm always joking about my big guns to him and my girls and he just grimaces. However, he often comments on how good I'm looking these days, besides, I like my big guns, so it's all good:) Now that he's going to the gym he jokes that he just wants to get bigger than me so I won't hurt him:dumbbell::dumbbell:

Mystic...don't worry about it. Women with muscles are hot! Just use it as motivation...next time you see him struggling with something ask him if he needs help. :big_smile:

ATIGER Posts: 992 Joined: 2003/02/26	2006/06/09, 02:59 PM I agree with Stump - a woman with well toned arms and shoulders looks great. There is a difference between well toned and bulky and it takes alot for a woman to have the bulky arms
