I've been running 3 miles (and then down to 2 as I work my way back up to three after hurting my knee a little (it's better now) 5 days a week with 2 non consecutive days off of rest. I use the freetrainers.com plan of working out twice a week (sunday and thursday) and so far it's going well - in the last month I've lost close to 15 lbs.

As far as food, I work later afternoons and evenings so I usually get the weight watchers frozen dinners to help with portion control - usually they are around 300 (sometimes 350) calories each and I try to eat about 100 calories every 2 - 3 hours to keep my metabolism going. Breakfasts are usually veggie egg-white omelets. Additionally I use a whey protein isolate shake 2 times daily and 3 times on lifting days.

On average I'm getting about 150 grams of lean protein and since my "ideal" weight (according to doctor's lists is 150-160 lbs, I hoping that's right.

anyway - so I clicked on the 'nutrition profile' thing on this website today and it says I should be consuming just over 2600 calories a day.

Thus far I've been in the neighborhood of 1500-1700 -
and I'm terribly afraid of hitting a plateau from not eating enough, but 2600 calories seems excessively high to me.

Can someone tell me if 2600 is around what I should be eating? it also says I should be eating 404 grams of protein which seems very very off..

Help?

Thanks in advance,
Mel

You should post your height/weight.

To me though 1500 is not enough, even when trying to lose weight. Maybe not up to 2600, but at least closer to 2000-2250 (depending on your size).

What are you goals? Can't really give an answer without that.

2K calories will probably not add any muscle, in fact would bet on it. That is not even 10 cal./lb., and that is diet amounts(pretty extreme before hormonal problems begin).
