hay, fellow body builders. I was wondering. I have a friend at work that works out at a gym and is a pretty good size with 18 inch guns, benching close to 300lbs. He chews tobacco as opposed to smoking. Logically I can see the benifit to your lungs in the alternative to smoking but wanted to come and ask my family about this. So, family what do you have to say about this alternative? Is it any better if one is "hooked" on tobacco? Appreciate the feed back.

Nicotine is the ingredient that concerns us here. It really slows down the repair and building of tissue. It also depletes your body vitamin c. Basicly your buddy would recover faster and get better results without the Nicotine.

Yuck, he doesn't throw out those big black lumps of chewed tobacco as well? Yuckie yuck!!! I wouldn't like the kiss that guy!! (o;
Seriously, does it also chew while exercising? NOT a good idea since he can get it wrong in the throat or even in the lungs..........

This is not at all a "safer" alternative. Actually, since there is no filter in chewing tobacco, you get the full effects of nicotine. Not only do you risk getting gum disease and oral cancer, you worsen your dependency on nicotine.
Just my 2 cents! Take it from an ex-smoker...

Hay everyone. I just wanted to thankyou for your feedback on the issue of chewing tobacco, it's actually in the form you put in your lip but it doesn't matter, the effects are the same. Thanks again.
