They can be very dangerous, these type of exercises must be done correctly. If done correctly, they are also as good for you as they can be dangerous. I think, especially in my case I found, that I have a tendency to go extra heavy on everything I do. Therefore, I found that deadlifts and good mornings are not practical for me due to this. They are a great core exercise if you do them correctly. I have a tendency to throw caution to the wind, and this is not advisable with these exercises. So, in place of good mornings for example, I do hyper extensions, with weight, and don't seem to have missed a beat. Get to know your body, your mind, and do what makes sense to you. Be very careful with your lower back. Good luck.

Well I think that most if not all exercises are dangerous. if done with proper form deadlifts are a great wat to add over all strength and thickness to you back. But I would not do good mornings i think they are very dangerous.
-------------- TO DEADLIFT, OR NOT TO DEADLIFT, THAT IS THE QUESTION!

To add to the above, some exercises are better performed using light to moderate weights. Good mornings is one of those exercises. Also, don't go too heavy with deadlifts at least initially. Let your lower back adjust to the heavier weights.
Good luck...
