The 300 Workout

The workout gets its name from the total number of repetitions. But those 300 reps weren't done daily, as some media accounts report, Twight says. Rather, the 300 workout was the finale of months of training, a kind of graduation test, after actors had weight lifted and trained with tools such as medicine balls and Kettlebells (cast iron weights with handles).

It's daunting, and includes these weight-training moves:

25 pull-ups
50 deadlifts at 135 pounds
50 push-ups
50 box jumps with a 24-inch box
50 "floor wipers" (a core and shoulders exercise at 135 pounds)
50 "clean and press" at 36 pounds (a weight-lifting exercise)
25 more pull-ups -- for a total of 300 reps

Have fun.

A good airbrush will get you those abs. The main actors worked for them, but most everyone else had theirs painted on. Unfortunately for all of us, we get paid to work at a job, not to work out like these guys. Otherwise everyone would look that good.

very wrong mcoutu. Many bodybuilders and powerlifters work day jobs so whats the difference?? They plan. They take into account that they will be working and schedule meals and there workouts accordingley. Never use the excuse that they dont have to work as a reason that they can get any bigger, stronger or fitter than you can. Your workout generally wouldn't/shouldn't take more than an hr. Its not like because they dont have jobs that there going to be working out 8 hrs a day while your at work. Meals can always be planned into the day. This sounds like an attack but i just dont like it when someone uses circumstances as the reason they cant be as good as someone else, sure it may help to have more free time but its not an excuse!

danny - I'm not speaking of body builders in general, i'm referring to actors that land rolls like this. I applaud those that balance working and and working out as i know it is difficult but rewarding. I'm just saying it would be nice to be able to have the luxury of always having personal trainers and fully stocked gyms and meal planners and personal assistants and chefs etc. at your disposal at any given time of the day like many actors do. I don't mean anything as an attack, and I apologize if it was considered as such.

No airbrushing, but they did use a filter and good lighting.

Also, the "300 workout" was not what they did to get in that shape. They followed crossfit principles, and trained hard 2-4x per day. Like mcouta said, they were paid to train.

When you have nothing else going on in your life, this is effective. However, with scheduling restrictions etc, there are other, better ways to do this.

They were short workouts, and outside of training, they were required to sleep a great deal and eat a balanced diet.

Also, keep in mind that "movie athletes" are not tested.
