Ok it's been 3 weeks now (well, 20 days 19 hours 26 mins) since i gave up my old life and started my new.

Old life - mcdonalds, fish and chips, freezer meals, wine, coffee, beer, chocolate, TV, internet, 5 hours sleep midweek, 14 hours sleep weekend, 1 meal a day + snacks.

New life - Tuna, water, milk, pasta, rice, banana, 180g+ protein a day, under 40g fat a day, Multi Vitamin, Hydroxycut, 8 hours sleep consistantly, 5 meals a day, cardio every other day (alternating 45min normal and 20min HIIT), weights 4 days a week as per FT.
Missed sessions = none, chocolate eaten = none, alcohol = none, coffee = none, nights with less than 8 hours sleep = none.

Results - lost around 3lb, 1.5kg. I see no difference yet, i feel no different yet, other than not being tired during the week (which is kinda obveous as i'm getting 3 hours more sleep) and i ache a lot, which i fully expected.

2lb per week would be 6lb and 3kg, i could live with that.

I'm definatly not giving up, but where is my 2lb per week? =(

Just relax. Everyone is different. It sounds like you're on the right diet. The results will come. But keep in mind that losing weight is different than losing fat. By dieting and excercising, your body fat % is decreasing, but at the same time, because you're using your muscles more, they are storing more water and nutrients for future use. This can result in the preceived notion that nothing is happening, but it is. Don't worry. Consistancy is key - keep up the good work!!!

LOL easy there tiger! I am with you on wanting to see results. Just remeber that fat weighs less than muscle, so maybe you are losing fat and buliding muscle. I have lost 6 inches yet still weigh in at 300. I would recommend that you throw out the scale and get a measureing tape used for fabric. Measure your waist and thighes etc. to get a baseline. Then every week (in the morning) take anothter measure...se then if the inches are not going away. I really feel that too much is out on the weight thing.

Have you decided that these changes are for the rest of your life? Dont try to do to much at once, and remember to reward tourself at least once a week.

Jingo, you are doing great so far. 1-2 pounds is what is healthy to lose per week. And as previously stated, muscle weighs more than fat, but is more dense. Use a measuring tape and tape yourseld every 2 weeks or so. Keep it up, you will see results.

I used to be a gym nut about 6 years ago but due to work and moving to a new country, I stopped. Recently I got tired of my fat ass and bullied my girlfriend into joining the gym with me. It's been one week, and I ache all over as would be normal, and I know from previous experience that I lose weight very slowly and it'll take me a long time to drop these 50 pounds that I seem to have gotten somehow, but I can tell you that the trick is to stick with it no matter what. As some people reminded ya also reward yourself at least once a week for good progress, wether it's a food reward or an activity reward. it will help keep your spirits high and when you start noticing the results more you'll feel even better and probably not wat a reward in the food category. A suggestion is take monthly pictures of yourself. This will help highlight the changes very nicely and make ya notice them. Keep with it!
