Go ahead and do a light cardio workout. Doing cardio following your leg day is better than doing nothing at all. This will pump 'new' blood into the legs and supply them with the proper nutrients so they can recuperate better. I always do some sort of a light cardio the day after I work my legs. It seems to help a lot, especially with alleviating soreness.

I can never do cardio after legs either. My legs are usually so wobbly I can’t get into it. The moment I step on the machine, my heart beat is already pumping 135-140 BPM from the 45 minute leg workout. Leg days are a killer for me but sure makes me feel good afterwards! As long as you work cardio in 3-4 days a week, 30-45 min, you should be fine. Like jbennett said, doing cardio the next day will also do the job. Try stretching if you want after the leg workout if you want to work the kinks out.

Active recovery has shown to work better and faster than staying completely passive. Bike a little, not much resistance thou.
