Hello motivators!!!

Starting week 10 of the 12 week Max Muscle Mass program.
Strength is definately increasing, but I'm really wiped out.
I'm probably not getting enough sleep (7 hrs/night = lucky).
Also, joints are starting to ache (elbows especially).
I managed very clean, 110-lb BB curls last week for reps - woo hoo (probably the cause of the aching). (Maybe I should post this in the Power Lifting Forum!)

I know, "Suck it up, cry baby! Less than 3 weeks to go!"

110bb curls? How many reps I can get 6 and I like to think I am rather good at it...LOL way to go. Yes the joint aches are a by product of lifting heavy, give your self more rest inbetween workouts if possible, and make sure to eat enough protein, as well as take a good multi vitamin, and or one of those joint builders, can not think of the correct name right now. Other than that when the 2 weeks are up take a good week or so off from lifting to give your body a chance tor ecover....and try ( i know it is hard) to sleep more when you can.

Thanks, Mutt.

I was able to eek out 6 reps of 110 with pretty strict form.
So I take it that's not too shabby for the saxman, eh?! And if I sleep an extra 2 hours per night and eat more protein, my biceps will look like yours? I'm off to bed! LOL

I already take a multi vit/min daily. I was thinking of taking that glucosamine chondroitin (sp?) for joint pain...

3 more weeks to go, then 2 long weeks off! I'm actually looking forward to the rest!

Well not too sure what makes mine look like they do. Just a lot of luck and lots of curls I think......But the key is to keep at it eat a lot and yeah i used to get a lot of sleep and that I think was a key of my growth. They are still growing soon to be over 19 inches i hope by summer. Keep at it.

Well, don't mean to brag here, but guys I have been doing 110 lb. curls for 3 sets of 6 for quite some time now. That is my normal working weight after my warmups. On days I feel great, I go up 5 more, sometimes 10. Have always had strong biceps for some reason. So the old guy is keeping up with you youngsters!! LOL...

110 for 3 sets of 8? Move over Ahhhnold!
I'll take a piece of that action!
Of course, it may take me until 2007.
Boy, I'll bet the folks in the Power Lifting section are laughing!!!

Hey BB1, what's all this about your "weakened state"? Or was that a type-o... Did you mean your "Weekend State". I recall someting about a celebration beer (albeit low-carb) that disappeared pretty quickly. And another thing... you never let the lovely Mrs. Sandysford win just to make her "feel good"? Hmmmm, some of my fondest memories of married life were when I let Mrs. Saxman "win" just to let her feel good... Put that on your bar and curl it! LOL

Mrs. Sandysford knows when I am letting her win. Very tough to get one over on her...though I do let her win sometimes at Snood! LOL....The weakened state...even though I had that great meal, and the next day some, I am right back on the diet. My bodyfat is very low right now, just finished competeing and have another in less than 7 weeks with Mrs. Sandysford by the way, so my caloric consumption is rather low. Maintenance is more the word for me right now. Wouldn't mind being another 1-2% bf lower for this one.

Ok Mutt....I was mistaken on arm days, today was arm day...and here are the results...after 3 warmup sets, 110 for 8, 115 for 6, and 115 for 5, and that was supersetting with light preacher curls! So, put that in your pipe!! LOL...And they were great reps. I used to the fullest extent the mind into muscle connection today. I visulized the cross striations of the biceps deep down in the bicep, and tried to push each rep toward that point very hard. Great pump today, great bicep workout, and tri's were equally good.

Way to go!!!!!! That is a great way to see results...I would not try that hard each and everytime but it is a good way to get past a sticking point either physcial or mental....

Ravenwolf, be careful with this type of workout every time. Could lead to overtraining, if you start feeling fatigue, etc. alot, may be time for a lighter workout for a session or two. Listen to your body. Not in any way trying to discourage you, you are training hard and making gains and getting places, I personally just don't want you to think about puking every time you train.
