Here are the top ten things that I have learned this past two weeks in the challenge:

1. The "text book" trainers at the gym will scoff at you when they see your program written on paper.

2. The above said trainers will also tell you that sissy squats are squats done on the tippy toes, using a pole to roll up on like you were humping a pole in a topless establishment.

3. If you drop a dumb bell on your upper chest / throat, it will be very embarrassing and hurts badly for several days thereafter.

4. Very motivating songs loaded on your Ipod in the wrong place during your workout...(Dr. Feelgood being a good example)...will make you overly agressive with your weight amounts. This also hurts badly for several days thereafter.

5. If you get too close to the edge of the pool on leg day, you will fall in and disrupt the over sixty aqua class. That being said, it is a good idea to keep a change of clothes in your locker or car even if you go to the gym in workout gear.

6. Never do HITT with your teenager. Your instinct to be stronger, faster and more capable will override your ability to accept that you must build intensity gradually for your fitness level. This will result in him/her offering to go get your car and drive you back to the house while you gasp in exhaustion and pain by the curb.

7. Utilizing a powdered shake to help reach your protein goals can become a choking hazzard when not properly mixed. That being said, if you use a straw and accidently suck a large undissolved clump into your windpipe, please try and refrain from sucking another one from the same straw to alleviate the problem.

8. While we are talking about protein powder, worth noting is that it is good in many foods and beverages. You can have the strawberry flavor in your oatmeal and the vanilla is very tasty when mashed into a serving of sweetpotato. However, this does not, in any fashion, apply to coffee. Some things are just sacred. Coffee is one of them.

9. Chicken, no matter how extraordinary the salad or dipping sauce you eat it with, is the equivalent of a rubber tire if you over cook it the slightest little bit.

10. Eating your body weight and then some in protein a day makes you poop. Alot.

gave me a good laugh! I will add mine....

dont work out in your underwear no matter how much your husband likes it because in a home gym being remodeled the crazy dogs will always tear down the temp curtains you have up and your neighbors will look at you funny.

Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack!

I wish everyone would get a partial amnesia and never use 'tone' ever again. (thanks Menance)

Syntrax makes a cappucino whey protein that is the bomb in coffee - but you have to mix it with a little water first and add it like creamer.:)

Overcooked chicken definitely sucks.

Keep trucking, everyone!

Yes, well, sometimes I just have to take a humorous look at the things that happen to me so that I do not waste time dwelling on how awkward and abnormal I am.

I told Hector last night my plans to screen print Amy on a tee to wear to the gym and told me that I should probably just wear caution tape. :(
