Hey I am trying to lose weight while bulking up my upper body I'm 28 6'1" 365 I am on cardio 3-4 times a week and a 5 day workout regiment. Any multivitamin anyone suggest for me to help get up my protien intake as well as some other vitamins in general. I am trying to eat total for breakfast to help with vitamin intake, because I mainly eat sald with a protien topping or steak or something

Jason, I haven't been on enough recently to see what you may have already posted but why in the heck are you trying to bulk up at 365 lbs? Maybe you have a different definition of bulk.

Mike is right and also if your looking to go from 365 to 300 kiss some muscle good bye with the fat and if your like totally fat kiss more muscle good bye then fat if you don't do it right!

Why do people insist on standing and sitting at the same time?

I don't care who told you so but it's a lie you can't Bulk and drop 65 pounds at the same time!

To bulk, gaining alot of muscle you will get some fat too. So take a pick and stick with 1, get fatter and more muscle of be smart and cut down to a decent fat% and then add muscle as needed or desired!

If you bulk up now you'll just lose all the hard work you did by having to cut back down from even more fat you'll be!

You will reshape your body lifting while cutting down and look good!

To gain and to Lose you do the same thing eat, lift and rest but with 1 you eat more and the other less!

It's Ok I think I will switch my program up to less lifting and more cardio, I don't want to be faced with trying to bulk up without the fat dropping

I think you should do the opposite. Lift 4 days and do cardio 3 days....I think you are not KISS(ing) it. Keep It Simple Stupid! Most beginners fall into a trap, one is to cut calories to low, add a lot of cardio and cut weight lifting down. Building lean mass is not easy, cutting fat is not easy. One way a lot of people have done it is to lift heavy and do some cardio. At your weight just cutting daily calories by 500 a day, lifting heavier and doing just 3 days of cardio should do the trick....look up a post by BB and one by Asimmer on cardio ( I think one is "is cardio keeping you fat").

Here ya go Jason

I may have confused you but I definitely wasn't saying to do more cardio. Mutt is right and I just meant that you don't want to bulk. Virtually any of the FT programs will work for you as long as you get your calorie load correct.

ok SO final response from this and see if my plan is good I lower my cal intake light diet and such lift about 3-4 days a week and cardio 3 days a week, but with my cardio I wanna do it like when i push myself, meaning mixing my fast walk with running and when my routine gets easier strech it farther right?

Listen it is rather simple. To diet is a misnomer so to speak. YOU need to see how many calories you can eat to gain weight and cut from there. DO not just decide to go from 3000+ cals a day to under 1200 or you will just make it worse. YOu need to eat 1-1.5 grams of protien per lb of body weight. I would think about 2000-2400 cals a day would be a good amount to eat. Plan to eat 5-6 meals a day. Eat a GOOD protein source, chicken breast for example, with a good carb, sweet potato for example and some good fats, fish oils etc. THen Plan each meal to be about 300-400 cals a meal. Lift weights heavy enough to be hard the last 2-3 reps and do cardio 3 time s aweek

Good post Mutt! Nice and simple. Jason, do as mutt suggests and start today. You're making things a lot more complicated than they need to be. Try it for a couple of weeks and see how you do, if it's working, great, if not, you'll need to tweak it a bit. You have a lot of wt to loose, so it is not going to happen overnight, but the great thing about that is you have lots of time to develop a healthy lifestyle! Good Luck!

Another piece of advice...length of time dieting. Say you have been dieting long term, meaning 8 weeks or better, or even longer, and you have hit a 'snag'..that is you are no longer dropping any lbs. This may be a good time to actually up your calories a bit toward your prior maintenance level. Stay there for 10-14 days, and then hit the diet again. Let the body 'recouperate' from the trauma(yes it is a trauma) of dieting. Even if you gain a lb. or 2 during this period, which you may well do, in the long run it will make the next dieting phase of your plan that much more effective.
