Hi I'm sure you all have answered this a million times, but I've been told different things and I'm confused. I'm on the general progression training, and I was wondering do I up my weights as my reps lower or do I keep the same weight as the 1st set {had the most reps}for the fact it has fatiqued my muscles already? I check on fitbuddy and found some advice for progessive training and wonder if that should still apply to the general traing or maybe I got more confussed? Well anyway some told me I should never switch weights in middle of the workout cause it causes injury cause my muscle are all ready fatiqued and better for me to use same weight for all sets weather they lower as I go or stay the same is that true?

That first set is usually a warm up and yes generally you add weight. No you will not cause injury I start (as an example lets use bench press) with 135x12 for a warm up and by the end of bench press I could be up to 315.

But remember mrsruccus...you don't have to use as much weight as mutt here...he's a monster!:)
I tend to use the same weight all the way through(except for the warm up set that is a very low weight)if I'm feeling up to it I'll up my weight on the last set...but thats me...so far I'm still alive and have no injuries.

I usually do one warm up set then 3 more sets increacing weight. Sometimes my last two are at the same weight if I feel that I cant go up anymore. I dont think there is a higher chance of injury.
