Hey again. I just wanted to get some suggestions for staying active. I know in order to loose weight and get in shape you have to stay active on a daily basis. Basicly my life consists of sitting on the computer surfing the web, and watching the tube, and a little bit of shooting hoops every so often. My life is basicly completely sedentary. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to keep active? Im 16 years old and I cant drive yet cause I dont have insurance so I cant go to the gym or anything. Anyways, I just thought you guys might have some suggestions or physically active hobbies for me. I would appreciate any replies...thanks!

Just start moving. Get out and go for a walk or a bike ride. Decide to take 30min per day for some kind of activity and just do it! If you have a store or something within a 30min walk, walk to it, buy a bottle of water and walk home. Pick up some inexpensive weights and start a lifting routine. Once you start, you'll find you have more energy. Get off the computer, get away from the tube and get outside!! You certainly don't need a gym to get active.

Basketball, soccer, football, baseball, basically any sport you can get a group of people together to play.
I bought a cheap mountain bike and ride that a whole lot, you have to constantly switch routes and it keeps pretty interesting.
Swimming is great if possible. But anything is better than nothing. Take a little time from the TV/Computer and make being active a lifestyle.
