Im trying to do deadlifts for my back, but i feel alot of work with my legs as well. I thought dead lifts where more for legs?

They work your back. If you do them right, the actual muscle work occurs with the attempt to stand upright with the weight(after legs are straight of course, make sure not to round out your back either, look up etc. etc.)

I just find it easier to say it works the whole body.
