I've heard that the longer and less broken your poo's are, the better your digestive system is working. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Umm, the answer at this site says it is just whether your anal sphincter is relaxed or not:

Narf! Sorry if it seems like a stupid question...I've just been having some digestive issues over the past few months, and since I started really buckling down with our dinners(No pasta, potatoes or bread only veggies)I haven't been having problems, and noticed my poo's were....better looking? and was wondering if the two really were connected like I had heard.

If you have round poo it could mean that you are a little constipated, and not getting enough fiber. You do want a smooth less broken poo.

If you are eating right, your poo should be a mid brown in colour, float, and not reek up the whole house...
If you "go" and you can clear the house with the smell or have to use major effort..then you arent getting enough fiber. And YES eating properly, whole grains/veg/fruit etc will show up pretty much everywhere in your life..your skin, your energy levels and even your poo |

Sivysivy,
I shyly admit that I stop and look at your picture quite frequently when I am browsing the site and think "that young lady sure is pretty". Now I can't stop thinking about your take on "poo". I still think you are quite the looker but the poo talk has shaken me up a bit LOL! I'm sure the feeling will pass (pun intended)in time. |

i don't think that floating is a sign of healthy diet - from what I have read, floating indicates a lot of fat in the 'poo'. Or a lot of spinach.
This whole subject is...ummm. poo-ey. ============ Quoting from mysticgraces: If you are eating right, your poo should be a mid brown in colour, float, and not reek up the whole house... Floaters are turds that have an unusually high gas content. Sometimes the gases produced by bacteria in our gut don't have a chance to collect into a large fart bubble, but remain dispersed in the feces. The poop then comes out foamy, and has a lower density than water.

Too funny Charlie..I think women with kids have the gift more so than anyone..when you got kids, you spend the first few years immersed in the world of bowel habits..and so we can read umm.....(said tactfully)"poo" |

Sorry, mojo. We are forced into the observation of poo by motherhood - no getting around it.
I don't, however, spend as much time studying it as some, I think. I just know about that website because we found it when doing a google search to try and figure out why our dogs eat poo. That's interesting Amy, I didn't know that. We do have a poo-eater in the family, tryed EVERYTHING to stop it, the only thing that works is to run and pick it up before he does:angry: Must be a tasty snack:surprised:-------------- \"One Ring to rule them all; One Ring to find them; One Ring to bring them all, and in the Darkness bind them.\" -LOTR Trilogy |

Theese nice musicians even wrote a song about poo!!!
TITLE: House at Poo Corner Christopher Robin and I walked along Under branches lit up by the moon Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore As our days disappeared all too soon But I've wandered much further today than I should And I can't seem to find my way back to the wood, so {Refrain} Help me if you can I've got to get Back to the house at Poo Corner by one You'd be surprised, there's so much to be done Count all the bees in the hive Chase all the clouds from the sky - Chase the clouds away Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Poo Winnie the Poo doesn't know what to do Got a honey jar stuck on his nose He came to me asking help and advice And from here no one knows where he goes So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear {Refrain} Believe me if you can, I've finally come Back to the house at Poo Corner by one What do you know, there's so much to be done Count all the bees in the hive Chase all the clouds from the sky - Chase the clouds away Back to the days of Christopher Robin and - Back to the days Back to the ways of Christopher Robin and - Back to the ways Back to the days of Poo Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo -------------- Sometimes life is like herding cats.
