Ok, I know this is a bit of paranoia, but I gained a lot of weight at first using my free weights etc, and my weight gains have slowed down significantly. I am still gaining, just at a MUCH slower rate. I assume that this is because the rate my body is building muscle and adding fat is just slightly faster than the amt of fat that my body is burning every night? So I should be content if my chest measurements etc are still increasing right?

Yes, as you become more highly trained, gains will slow dramatically.

That is kind of weird, the gains were so explosive at first and now it seems like they just hit a brick wall, I didn't know they could do that in such a short amt of time? (Few months...)

Are you still following the exact same routine or have you modified it since making improvements? It is important to vary your routine as your body changes...it will help give it a kick...and as you are still gaining you are still going in the right direction.
