I entered FREETRAINERS almost a week ago. It´s great, had found a lot of suport from the members, but I feel a bit down because I have only lost 2 pounds in this week.
I don´t want to start eating again but sometimes when you try so hard something and it doesn´t work you feel like such a looser.
I want to lose 15 pounds, I need to.

Two pounds in a week is normal mariadisa, don't get depressed. Losing weight or gaining muscle weight takes time. Hang in there, with a little discipline, the fat will start disappearing.

"I have only lost 2 pounds in this week."

If you keep losing 2 pounds a week you'll have lost 15 pounds by the end of March. Now, your profile doesn't mention any terminal illnesses that will see you dead anyt time within the next month and a half. You're 24 years old, so what's the rush?

Don't you dare go being silly now by losing the weight suddenly; you stick at it! Exercise so much that you feel good for it, don't exercise so much that you feel drained and tired all day. It'll make you mentally stronger, give you pride and will make you look healthy.

2 lbs. is good. You do not want to lose too quickly. If you do, you are most probably losing muscle. Stay the course, and feel great about your loss. It is reasonable, and healthy.

mariadisa, the guys are right no worries and sometiems it is harder for pounds to come off a woman more so than a man. Plus to lose more than that in a week can become unhealthy for you. Just have a little more patience and you will see results a step at a time, just look forward to when those clothes start fitting a little looser and remember everytime, the looser they get, the closer you are to reaching your goal! good luck!

Yeah! Plus remeber that muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space. So while you might actuall gain somewhat you will look better! Hang in there! I weigh 312 and my goal is 240 by jan of next year(or sooner) so let s do it the right way!

Remember, when you lose weight fast you risk losing not just muscle, but - if you consistently undereat - bone mass as well. You're only talking about fifteen pounds so take it nice and easy. Two pounds a week is a great, steady pace! And taking it slow will help you build good habits to maintain your weight loss, not just lose some weight really fast and then go right back to what you were doing that made the weight accumulate in the first place. You said it wasn't working, well, you lost two pounds. So its working! Just have patience and it will pay off in the long run.

Someone once told me to think of each workout, each day of eating right, as layers of paint on a wall. You start with your bare wall and add a layer a day. The difference each day is very subtle, but at the end of several layers, you have a beautiful wall. I think of this often when I have several days of working out and don't see much difference. I know the "layers" are there, and before I know it, it will show up. I guess the moral is, hang in there and don't give up!

Trust me...as someone who has lost nearly 90lbs....2 lbs a week is very rewarding sometimes it will come quickly sometimes a little more slowly. Those who lose to quickly tend to put it back on quickly. Besides I doubt that extra 15lbs was added on in only a couple of weeks. Be patient and have fun with it....do not starve yourself but do not give up before you are done...DO NOT DIET....if in your mind you are dieting you will begin to hate it...change your life...when you hit your goals do not go back to "eating as you were" or you will go back to what you were...you must look at it as a life change (positive) and change bad habits now.
have fun with it!!

IF you don't see results, you could try the Atkins diet. I used it an I have kept my weight under control for over a year. It will help you to break addictions to simple carbs and sugars that are usually responsible for to much weight.

I really think diet (both what you eat and how you eat it) is what controls your weight and metabolism. You can lose weight by changing your diet and not exercisisng, but I doubt you can lose weight by exercising with out the proper diet. Not that you shouldn't work out, but proper diet is what must be mastered and is the first priority. The benefits from exercise are just the "icing on the cake"

Oooh, that's a really bad pun.

losing weight is never easy. We put weight on so quickly and we expect it to come off quickly but it doesn't. It takes hard work and dedication. Also weight loss isn't just about losing weight it is about having more confidence with yourself.
