Hey all. I typically cant get to gym untill after 730 and some times as late as 10. My question is, when is the optimum time to take creatine and protein? I have looked and cant find anything. I take a creatine/protein/water shake about 40min before gym now and then when i get back a creatine with gatorade shake but that can be at 11 or so which then i dont want to be taking a lot of sugars anyway. what do you all thing is best to do in this situation? also, is that the correct way to do it? creatine protein 45min preworkout and creatine/juice or gatorade less than 30 min postworkout? thanks

Everything you're doing is okay, but in reality, the best way to do it would be to take the protein you're having before your workout and put that in your gatorade/creatine mix after your workout. Works much better.

so then take what prior to workout? and im not sure... but i think orange gatorade, chocolate protein shake and creatine would not taste so great. ahah but i am taking creatine before and after, and i eat dinner after workout so that typically helps provide me with protein after since its like chicken or tuna or something. thanks for your help and anymore opinions would be great!

No, in fact that would be a good practice if it is in your budget.

coolnatedawg,

i had the same problem so i invested in maltodextrin and dextrose. now i just throw everything into my postworkout shake, and it works alot better. before, i used to have a gatorade and creatine shake followed up by a protein and glutamine shake, but found this was just too much liquid, and i wanted one simple deal.

i havent seen any of that stuff? can i get maltodextrin and dextrose at vitmain world? or a gnc? and how much is it for a good portion of it. i have the super huge tub of protein and pure creatine monohydrate about 400g or mg or whatever.
thanks,

i ordered mine online. i would recommend getting into the habit of ordering supplements online from CREDITABLE sources.. its alot cheaper. i got mine from bodybuilding.com.. i think the dex was like $3 and the malto was $12. that was for 2 lbs dex and 7 lbs malto.. all depends on your serving sizes for how long it lasts.

Dpsnutrion.com is an excellent source, and for free shipping on all orders over 50 bucks(who doesn't spend that?) vitaglo.com is great. There are tons others. These are but a couple. I find BB.com is best for when I need something "right now", but usually a bit higher than many other places.

Use your simple sugars pwo, not pre. NOW nutrition is a cheap source for both.
